On August 29, 2024 the CAF - Development Bank for Latin America and the Caribbean in collaboration with the Office of Procurement Regulation hosted a Panel and Roundtable Discussion Event "Best Practices for Public Procurement Reform".
Public procurement significantly impacts a country’s economic, social, political, and legal environment, and its reform is a critical issue for governments worldwide. The Panel and Roundtable Discussion is an annual conference with the main objective of providing a collaborative platform for leading practitioners and industry experts to discuss major trends concerning public procurement practice, reform, and modernisation. This Discussion also addresses emerging issues and challenges in public procurement reform and potential solutions, the Methodology for Assessing Procurement Systems (MAPS) initiative, and the promotion of healthy competition among suppliers and contractors with focus on the role of suppliers and contractors in promoting the principles of good governance.
