These videos are an immense treat. I admit, the narration has a strangeness to it. I've come to see that it's part of the charm. After all....your favourite band has effects on the vocals too, right? On the four-wheel side, I might compare Racer TV to Victory By Design - and PLEASE take that as a high compliment, Racer TV! The very best element - besides the mouth-watering machinery, is the fact is acknowledged that motorcycles don't simply get us from A-to-B....they work into our imaginations and our souls.

At no stage in my comments did I mention the amount of work you put into preparing your videos. Quite the contrary, if you view my past comments I have been more than complimentary as I was in that last comment on the video you did on Kim Boyle. Thus, these parts of your reply to me are irrelevant. I am not trying to be some arrogant judgmental condescending aloof twit but my opinion is well founded. I have ridden many of these bikes and have been good friends with their owners. I have formed my love and opinions on bikes with some degree of patience. But for an example of my comparisons in ride-ability and presence on the road, Moto Guzzis are like riding a truck, BMW's have relatively no soul and Hondas are a mass produced answer to marketing forces (RELATIVELY SPEAKING).. This is not to say that I have not enjoyed riding and owning them but to take something that was produced in a less relevant design to the heart of the cafe racer concept and then attempt to make it the ultimate cafe racer begs belief. I have watched the results of your selection process. They are obviously inherently corrupted. You say you have a popular channel on cafe racers but how do you qualify this? You cannot. People clicking a button on their mouse cannot. To compare a Honda 550 in any guise, to a Norton is, quite simply, the work of a lunatic. I love your videos - all of them - but think about your logic. These people are watching highly stylised versions that have some nice concepts. But to relate them to the real concept of cafe racers and to put a Honda 550 in front of Kim Boyle's Norton makes you look like a lunatic in the youtube asylum. The addition of a few bits of extra cosmetic kit do not make the Honda a cafe racer. The simple pure styling of Kim Boyle's bike, the inherent engineering and the love that riding a Norton generates are what cafe racers and real motorbikes are about. You sound like you have a southern European background. Have you ever ridden a Bultaco 250 Metrala? The viewers must be like any mass market where they watch seemingly attractive concepts such as American sitcoms and cooking competitions. Your videos present the bikes very very well and my previous comments have shown very careful appreciation. But if your putting your selection process out to the masses is the only basis of selection then all your work gets a shallow result. There is absolutely no possible way that a Honda 550 4 cylinder could be compared to a Norton as the basis for a cafe racer. We used to ride these things (Hondas, Yamahas, Suzukis) and would never dream of going back unless we wanted to die (and rather miserably). Good luck in the future of presenting motorbikes but try to reENGINEER the term of cafe racer that you use to title them.
@RACER_TV10 жыл бұрын
Thomas Elliott Dear Thomas, I can't deny your demanding knowledge and taste about cafe racers.But you have to understand that the main point of view about all the bikes presented on Racer tv, is mainly about the aesthetics and not technical.The majority of racer TV Viewers, are people who are still thinking on building a cafe racer.And because of this, all the videos are produced to these kind of viewers. Just like you, i'm also surprised by some of the bikes which were chosen to the Top 10.This video is only a demonstration of the bikes, that most people love to see, nothing more than that.If you read the comments in this video, you will see that most people liked the video.If you want to consider, that this video is to mass market, i have no problem with that, because in a certain way, it is true.I try to make all my videos with passion. But i also have to think in what Viewers want to see.And believe it or not, all they want is inspiration.I understand and respect your opinion, because your high level of knowledge and experience about cafe racers, is probably much beyond of the majority of Viewers. And this means that maybe Racer TV is not for you.Cheers.

RACER TV Thanks for your reply. My criticism may seem harsh and I hope I am not appearing like a small minded egocentric person. Just to put things in perspective I am living in a country where is it very difficult to find a Norton so I tried a modern equivalent- the Yamaha ER6N. Probably a reasonable choice for a cafe racer with some extensive revisions because it is light, has a small, reasonably powerful motor and was designed for fun. I almost bought it but I just could not go ahead with the purchase. There is something that I call a presence in a motorbike that is what makes it desirable. It is something you feel as soon as you get on it. The way it sits on the road, the way it pulls, handles and the way it makes you feel. As one reviewer stated, Nortons make you feel like a million dollars. I did not get that feeling from the Yamaha even though it was about the same weight and slightly more powerful. Good luck with your shows. They show what are usually excellent production skills and devotion to a great cause. I will always continue to watch and enjoy them.

Tim Lui Well, believe it or not, most of the non english natives love this robotic voice. It is probably one of the best robotic voices in the world. I already tried a real voice, but things didn't go as i expected. Cheers.
