The videotography is next to none in my opinion but the robot voice sucks. I personally feel this way because I hate robots. It would be nice to hear a real person. Maybe a woman with a soft wonderful foreign accent. Im sure someone would do it for free just to get that kind of experience on a resume.

When BMW launched the NineT, Triumph the new bonnies, Yamaha the XSR, and many others were betting on neo-retros, Kawasaki "retired" the w800 line and launched this vulcan S (they even called "cafe racer" to one version). Being a W650 owner I was extremely sad... because I just love the Meguro brand and felt they were "abandoning" this race (now we all know that the brand new z900 are just around the block...). Some days later I saw this and could not believe my eyes. This is an excelent piece of work with an ugly duck.

I have good news for you. The Kawasaki W800 is back since last year. There are 3 versions. The classic, the Black Edition, and the Cafe style. :) Um abraço.

not exactly... this 2016/7 modelos are the last ones :/... they don't Cope with E4 european emission rules so they are selling the rest of the stock... ;)... but the z will be back soon... with a turbo engine along in the future ;)

Possibly my favorite cafe racer of all time although I am a fan of the cx500/650 project as I have a cx500 bike sitting in my garage and used to have a cx650 custom. I would love to do a cafe racer with the honda cx650 custom someday myself.

Sorry but the kawasaki er6n frame seems to be different from the vulcan X. The tubular structure under the fuel tank is not as straight as in the Vulcan S. And this detail makes all the difference to achieve the horizontal line underneath the fuel tank. I still think the Vulcan S is the best kawasaki for a cafe racer project. Cheers.

A great looking bike from a simple modification. The man appreciates style. The only suggestion is that, as with many Japanese bikes, the motor sits very high in the frame, thus making it difficult to look more elegant than it does or more fun to ride than it might be.

The Vulcan S is a derivation of the old cruiser bike from the K brand, at 649 C.C and with some features to adjust for the rider comfort the so called “Ergo-Fit”. To me they aimed a wide segment of persons such a youngsters with its first “cruiser” and women due to the ergonomics, with a rather “small” engine but yet powerful. It draws much my attention the engine change, that goes from the V Twin to a two in line cylinder in a CC so close to the W 800. With the launching of the totally retro w800 as a farewell for the old line of “W” bikes, aimed to us, the lovers of Café Racer motorcycles, to me the new Vulcan S is perhaps an interesting appeal not only for the café fans, but for the more youngster rider in the “Street Fighter” segment. If you look closer the bike from MRS oficina is a halfway between the two kind of motorcycles I refer. Certainly a great bike with an interesting approach!

Indeed my friend. I also see this Vulcan S as a very interesting donor motorcycle for a cafe racer or a streetfighter. Among the main japanese builders, kawasaki seemed to be sleeping. Realmente o pormenor da matricula é sempre um problema para muitos. Pessoalmente, acho que colocar a matricula(Com luz) em baixo do lado esquerdo da moto, e junto ao eixo da roda traseira, continua a ser a opção mais viável para muitos, assim como neste projecto. Fique atento, pois futuramente irei fazer um video para eleger um Top 10 das melhores Cafe Racers amadoras. :) Um abraço.

You have brought us so many interesting challenging projects that were well done. It makes me wonder...is there a bike that really can't be made into a good looking café racer? I mean, without replacing the frame or other such fundamental changes. Also, the tank is from the Vulcan, I think. He "re-contoured" it with the paint job.

Well, maybe nothing is impossible... but what would you consider to be the biggest challenge? Of course, what element makes it so difficult?

Paneerdog I think the worst element is the frame, especially with sport bikes. Modern fuel tanks are usually the worst enemy of most cafe racer projects. I think that that most chopper bikes, dirt track bikes, and sport bikes, are the most difficult, because the cafe racer stance is simply not there.

The articles I have been able to find reviewing the stock Vulcan S says it has a heavier flywheel than when the similar Kawasaki engine is used in the Ninja 650. The other articles say it is 28% heavier. So does this conversion use the lighter version of the flywheel from the Ninja?
