I think the extra travel for the rear wheel fits the build - especially once you add knobby tires. Looking forward to how you do the brake light/rear fender/etc
@Beachmangarage5 жыл бұрын
Lol me too.... 😅 I hadn't actually thought about the rear fender design until the new shocks went on.... should be interesting 🤞

Try a CL360 brake pedal. Also, you can cut a half inch or so off the bottom end of those shocks to shorten them a little if needed.

Good work, Steve, and thanks for the video. Too cold in my garage (for me at least) but yours looks colder. I like your ‘this week mods’. Will the longer rear shocks require a longer set of forks at the front to keep the steering geometry right? Anyway, thanks for all of it, its going to look good with a rear fender (‘mudguard’ here in UK!). Roll on the springtime weather!! Les
@Beachmangarage5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Les! I’ve read that on these bikes raising the rear a touch can help the front be a bit more stable. If no, I’ll look into lengthening the forks a touch. Yes, waaay to cold. We have had the deep freeze here 🥶

Hey Steve i just wanted to let you know the cb450 swingarm is a direct swap with the cm/cb400t swing arm and gives a few extra inches i have this mod on my cb400t scrambler build.

The rear frame hoop is catching the eye so it makes the back of the bike seem high. Once it is black it will blend in and look great with a small black fender and tail light. Well done, it looks great already. What did you do with the exhaust heat shield? Wayne.
@Beachmangarage5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Wayne, I agree, once the fender is on it hopefully should make sense. Lol , I have changed direction on the heat shield but thought 3 vids in a row on the muffler was a bit much 😏. Will def post up what I do though. Cheers!

Exra travel and stance is proper... You just need a nice ally fender... If you actually ride this off road any amount or in any weather here in canada your going to want it anyways!

Thanks! Fender definitely a must...Cheers!

@@Beachmangarage I see. I've got a furnace in my shop. It's been wildly cold here in the Midwest. - 30s at night the past few days. But it's back up to 30 today 🤷♂️

hair too high....maybe a larger rear tire.....
@Beachmangarage5 жыл бұрын
Bunny Duck yes, I’m doing a slightly larger tire, should help. I’ve just finished up a rear fender, def helps with the height. That vid will be up in a day or 2. Thanks for watching !
