Always loved this, simple, song. Makes me think of regret, and the Maud Muller poem “For of all sad words of tongue and pen, the saddest are these … it might’ve been”.

Not that I remember this song when it came out, but as a 70s child, there were times when I just _adored_ a few girls (one at a time), but would _never_ let them know. I can relate to feeling a milion miles away.

Nice to hear Frankie outside "The Four Seasons" which began his awesome career. For me this is one of Frankie's absolute best song's, an adventure into a solo career paid off as this became a world wide hit song for Frankie. Beautifully written and perfectly sung by a master singer. He managed to get a few love songs to do solo but this will still rank as my all time favourite. Keep Safe Keep Strong and Love From Australia to you both.

I was a young boy with a crush on a girl when I first heard this song. Where has the innocence gone? A simple declaration of love, minus the degrading additions we now have. I do miss this. One friend told me it won't come back. Men no longer worship women. I pray he is wrong. Once more, keep up the good work.

You might like his cover of "See You In September," a song about a school break for summer vacation.

I'm a Frankie Valli fan, but I never understood how this song made it.

well, I'd say it is a perfect mix of music and lyrics that tells a romantic story that most people can relate to ---in a nostalgic way---sung to perfection by a fabulous singer--at least that is how I understand it
