I love it, it looks SO cool!

Thanks Dane! I also (still) love it, its far from perfect but it used to be in boxes and covered in rust and sand! Still the open-airfilters aswell as the clutch are giving me hell but i will get it right. Thanks for watching and your kind comment.

Love the channel and videos! Have a GS450 that i'm currently rebuilding. What exhaust is on yours?
@DutchedShedBuilds9 ай бұрын
To be honoust i do not know. I got them from a different purchase. But they seem to be low cost mufflers, custom pipes and exhausttape to cover it all

Very cool looking bike, can i have link to buy that clip on handle bar please

Thanks for the compliment. What clip do you mean?

Awesome, I bet it really felt great getting it out for the first time.

Yes it really did. It was a bit weird actually. Its been so long since i rode on a motorcycle let alone one that i rebuild.

Did you figure out why it was revving really high? I just got a gs400 and I have the same problem. There must be an air leak somewhere but I cant locate it.
@DutchedShedBuilds Жыл бұрын
Hi, the revving was mainly due to poor airpodfilters I had on the bike at that time. However I have since placed better airpodfilters, K&N RC1822. That made a huge difference and the bike immediateley ran more stable and does not rev up high or low. So thats the first place to look (air-fuel mixture). Hope this helps you!

hi can you please make the video making that exhaust set up please .
@DutchedShedBuilds Жыл бұрын
I have no video on them im sorry to say. Its a straight 2 in 2 system. I did make (simple) custom brackets to mount them on the bike. They came a part of another bike that i had bought earlier.

good work, bike looks really nice. carb adjustment with open airfilters is painful, my gs is also spitting. but i left it on the richer and safer side. what size of main jets did you choose? did you changed the camshafts? My gs had 27HP, so i took the gs500 cams with some spacing shims. should be around 43HP now. tip for batterie, LiFePo. less space and works fine ;) have fun with this solid bike.
@DutchedShedBuilds3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I did not change the camshafts. Never seen anyone do that. The shims are the ones on the valves you mean? Or did you use something especially for the camshaft? And i will definitely look into that battery👍
@fornotes3 жыл бұрын
@@DutchedShedBuilds sorry, i meant washer. My GS450 had 27hp. The cams from gs500E are higher but there is a little more space on the sides you have to fill with thrust washer in case of changing. Two shims needed to be changed also because of the new cams. Now it should make around 40hp. Merry Christmas 🎅

Hello sir where did you get that speedometter?
@DutchedShedBuilds Жыл бұрын
Hi, the speedo is the stock that came with this bike originally. I removed it from the original mounting and made my own. I also painted the backplate in the same color as the tank

What size jets are you using? I've got 135's on my 450. I had the same issue due to a trottle kabel witch was to tight. Bike looks great btw!

Havent yet dove into the jets. The tuning is for the upcoming weeks. I’ll use your advice. Thanks for the compliment!

What seat and bars do you have on it?
@DutchedShedBuilds Жыл бұрын
The seat came from ebay a long long long time ago. Dime a dozen, next time i'll would co for a more custom job as the seat tends to wobble left and right. Also i had to make a custom latch to secure it. I have a video on that. The bars are also just basic ebay stuff. Nothing special or fancy.

BIKERS PLEASE. I got a Suzuki GS450 from 1984, it is in fantastic shape and i wanna keep it. However. I want a little more hourse power out of it, not much, just a little. The top speed is fine, i don´t need to drive any faster anyways, but i would really love more acceleration from 50 to 80 to overtake safely and have a little fun also... What kind of stuff do i need to buy to get more power? Please anybode help.
@DutchedShedBuilds Жыл бұрын
Open airfilter could give you a bit more kick, but are notorious hard to tune. I know first hand. You could try making it lighter with different wheels that are lighter.
@petrascvirka9723 Жыл бұрын
get a bigger rear sprocket, dont waste your time with them air pods. i had K N's on mine , chenged the jets but still bike didnt ride as it should be. quickiest way to get some more acceleration is to swap sprockets , or get striped the weight as author said.
@pplarecrazy2 жыл бұрын
first ride where is the ride ?
@DutchedShedBuilds2 жыл бұрын
It was a very short indeed. But a ride none the less, especially for me as this motorcycle basically came in boxes. Also at the time of filming this video i did not have the motorcycle insured and the title was onhold. So i could only go up and down the parkinglot behind my house. And the setup of the carbs was horrendous.
