With ya 100% Kevin. Born and raised Wexford man here. Emigrated to the US in the mid 2000’s. I couldn’t imagine living in Ireland today. It’s a nice romantic thought, but I would never give up the freedoms and opportunities the US had given me and I will be forever grateful to the USA for that. My wife and children who are all born and raised in the US are well versed on how good we have it here. But they all know the value of Irish heritage, culture and of course the food. The full Irish breakfast, brown bread and colcannon are big treats in our house. I’ve spent many years all over the US, with long stints in California, Texas and finally where our homestead is now, Alaska. Kevin, you have to take a serious look at Alaska. Moving from the lower 48 to Alaska is akin to the same difference as moving from Ireland to the US. True freedom! If you ever make it up this way, I’d love to host or help you make a business deduction out of it. Maybe we can get you lined up for some trainings with our local LEO’s. You already have a great following up here with a lot of veterans. If you ever plan to come this way, let me know. I’ll have the tae on for ya! 😎 God bless!

Great podcasts Kevin. Grew up in West Belfast in 60’s, 70’s and early 80’s. Left for US on May 5 1981, to join USAF. Spent 5 of those years in the USAF in CCT. Slainte.

Hey Kev, your comments about counselling guys that maybe are not fully engaging are spot on. Sometimes it is the 'quiet word' that makes all the difference.

Regarding what you like best about your current work; I have the exact same response. I have so much more time and it’s absolutely amazing to not be running around trying to get so much stuff done. I relish the idea that my life has slowed down to a manageable pace. It feels so much more reasonable.

I read in one of these comments you said had signatures of your unit members from your time in Ireland. I have a 2 part question. 1-i saw from an interview you were a tier one unit member but did you ever do any training with any other countries tier one units that was closest to Ireland? And 2-have you ever tried to keep in contact with any of your former teammates from your Ireland unit? BTW i saw your interview on Mike Ritland podcast and i very much enjoyed it. Ive always been fascinated by guys who have served under tier 1 units or any special operations. Thank you for your service! I love this country more than most I'd say these days and this election is probably one of the most important in American history i think anyway. If you feel like it id lovd your thoughts on whats going on these days...sorry this was so long 😂 and i dont blame ya if all this is too long to answer. Thanks!

My 16” criterion barreled 6.5 CM AR10 is fantastic. I can hit the majority of shots on 2 MOA targets at 1k yards, even with imperfect wind reads. It’s not going to win really specialized precision-focused competitions like F-class or anything, but I am so confident in it for a lot of tasks along the entire spectrum of ranges from room distances to 1k yards.

Could you be a Psychiatrist, !!! Like me not in the medical sense anyway!!. But, seriously, we did have to have some form of assessment of both ourselves and our peers. and no more than myself Kevin, we would certainly have a 'gut' feeling that may not equate to modern medical methods. I like the idea you mention about 'peer classes' Not everyone is the brash, full of testosterone guy, but there is a place for the quiet introverted guys. Great stuff as always.

@danielcampbell9457 Жыл бұрын
kevin quick question. i see u have a bit of SF memorabilia, but why dont u have any irish ranger wing memorabilia? isnt that irelands most elite unit? you may have already spoke about this and i missed it, but regardless was just curious. unless if u do have some and ive always just missed it.

I don't have much, i have a coin and a badge, the Bodhran behind me is an Irish Musical instrument. It was given to me when i attended an International Sniper course at the ARW. It was signed by the unit members

@@thefinalrestoration I honestly can't say for sure (obviously), but I have heard him in his videos talk about both rifles VERY enthusiastically, and would probably say that they're both great. As is his manner he would certainly describe both rifles as HAMMERS. LOL.
