That's something the University of Iowa is known for. Getting the student athlete's involved with the kids at the children's hospital! Like w/ the football team, you see the Kinnick wave to the children's hospital! Caitlin never brags about herself, she always puts others first!

Don't EVER hesitate to make a positive video! We all need more of that, so thank you!

“Don’t meet your heroes for you may be disappointed”. That’s not the case with Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin. In other parts of life, meeting your heroes puts greater responsibility on you to not disappoint them. Chose your heroes carefully, too often it isn’t a hero but only a flawed celebrity.

Thank you for this video. It's important for everyone to remember that athletes are not robots going through the motions of playing their sport - they are human beings whose humanity should be acknowledged. The University of Iowa athletic program requires its student athletes to contribute to the community, and outreach to children at the children's hospital is a big part of that. You can see the outcome of that outreach in this incident - not only did Kate and Caitlin build a relationship with Bailey a couple of years ago, but they stayed in touch with her over time. I think Kate Martin was the one who worked directly with Make a Wish to bring Bailey and her family to Vegas, but both Caitlin and Kate did their part to bring joy into Bailey's young life once she got there.

This is Iowa sports, Iowa athletes, and Iowa culture. For all of the people who've been caught up by a Bully Club and the Institutionalized Abuse of the WNBA, you've come up against something that is much much bigger than you can imagine. What you see is the public expression of an entire culture that is behind Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin and all athletes of high integrity. Bigger visions are in mind and these include the charitable outreach that someone such as Caitlin, or Kate, would never advertise, but it's time that people understand. This charitable focus is only a part of a value system that has bound foundational not only to Iowans but our entire nation. Charity and community spirit are cornerstones to this, there is also a focus on championing good sportsmanship - so women don't have to suffer abuse on the public stage and basketball, and finally so little girls and boys don't have to see bullies being allowed to abuse women. This is what the bullies and their supporters never accounted for, Iowans, and the people who share the same values, do not back down for bullies. This is not because of any desire to fight, but because there is so much more to fight for. We are witnessing the forward edge of a cultural war and a spiritual war, and young women are the Nexus of this. There are those who would seek to hold power through bullying and abuse, and they are able to do so when they operate in the shadows. Sometimes somebody comes up, and through their own excellence they break the power hold of the bullies by bringing a light into the shadows. You will know obsession occurrence because there will be a great outcry from the bullies and those who mob in behind them. Take confidence that this, the acceleration of the bullying and the mobs' yelling behind them, means the battle is being waged in the right direction, and in this case towards a public stage where abuse of women has been allowed as a public demonstration. This is much bigger than Caitlin Clark. So many women have been caught in the shadows in previous decades, bullied, injured, run out - afraid to make the Call to come forward, because they felt no one would be behind them. Also, so many young girls and boys are watching now, just as the young girl in Chicago who decried seeing Caitlin Clark get hurt. This girl was so young that she was still getting her handle on pronouncing "Ls", however she can recognize right from wrong. So can we, and now it is very important that we let our collective strength be known, so all of the women know that they are supported, and the bullies have no choice but to take a knee or to see themselves out the door.

Sadly, there will be people who will see the negativity in this - just as they see the negativity in everything. They lack perspective - an inability to see outside themselves. Sadder still, if they could do that for a moment, they'd realize how beautiful moments like these are. Without saying names, what are other players, especially players in this rookie class - doing to better communities besides using a platform to incite hate through meaningless words? This is what it's all about. If anyone recalls that statement, "Everyone has a platform...silence is a luxury..." - THIS is one issue CC uses her platform for. To remind all of us through ACTION - that LIVING is a luxury.

Doing things like this really puts what you define as 'problems' in perspective. I know Clarke keeps that in mind when all this superficial noise is around her. And when you think life is hard........ is it really?
