First of all, you don't know what assault is. Second of all, not a single person in this comment section has the ability to comprehend what they're listening to. If they're actually listening at all. Her eardrum was ruptured on a screen. The other player wasn't moving. She ran into the player. I actually watched the game and can confirm this is true. There is nothing a ref could do in this completely legal situation. Caitlin needs to either learn how to get over screens or fight through them. Which she will.
@bill_of_rights56489 күн бұрын

@@CroatiauefaeuroAnd that’s exactly what Caitlin said, but there probably is a real convo to be had about the flagrant fouls and quite honestly finding a better balance when it comes to the level of physicality overall in the WNBA. And that should start from the WNBA Commissioner’s office. The NBA made adjustments over the years to put less focus on defense because the physicality and aggressive defense of the 90s got out of hand. And I think their ratings went up. Turns out if people want to watch football, they’ll just watch football. But even more than that there is a beautiful flow to basketball that too much aggressive defense just throws off and ultimately makes less fun to watch, which is what the NBA realized years ago.

Clark is handling this situation perfectly and from her coach's expression I this she agrees. The biggest frustration she can cause AR is to keep calling her just another rival. She wants to be seen as Clark's equal and it distorts her game trying to get that attention. Clark is already living rent-free in her head, but the more Reese is downplayed as having some kind of special relationship with her the more real estate Clak gets in that head. If Reese doesn't grow up and just focus on making a layup the worse she will look both on and off the court.

The thing that bothers me is the comments that the league is a physical league. Basketball is not supposed to be a physical game, it’s supposed to be a finesse game. Yes there is going to be some physicality especially in the low post. But that’s with the body not the arms and hands. If the league would police that up then it would be a much better game to watch and players wouldn’t be getting frustrated or hurt. It’s not rugby or roller ball.

To Change the WNBA's culture, you got to get rid of the word, "Physicality" all together. The REFs called the Atlanta Dream game very closely and ATL- got 35 foul shots while Indiana got 12. If I hear the word, "Physicality" one more time, I am going to stop watching. Just like Michael Jordan used to get a lot of calls to go his way, due to his reputation of dominance and competitiveness, never once was one of his game's fouls called in lieu of normal acceptable "physicality". Lebron James has that problem, now, too many ref's calls based on his reputation and acceptable level of 'physicality'. We are letting friggin narrative writers from ESPN & WNBA reporters set the standard of foul calls for women. Listen to the Ben Daniel podcast. He will explain it very well. The WNBA is in a cultural ditch of moral degradation equal to that of the 'Roller Derby' so that we can start naming the players, generically 'Blonde Bomber 1' & 'Blonde Bomber 2'

Had a ruptured ear drum when I was 14... it HURTS BAD and does impairs your hearing... takes a long time to heal... Place your hand OVER your ear and talk... that is what it sounds like...

Very good for giving your team a spark of emotion, that's what I liked. If they fire you, a better one will come: God does not forsake the good ❤

Please don't go there. NO COMPARISON. CC is not breaking the color barrier, she is bringing Yt fans to the game. Popular, sure, why wouldn't she be. Don't put that kind of pressure on her. She has already gone through enough!

she had her coach and teammate in shock when she said the pay grade and rivalry responses.

Wait she just said Angel Reese is not her rival lol. 😂
@maxxgold19 күн бұрын
She isn’t. Caitlin could care less about Angel Reese. It’s definitely a rivalry from Angels perspective since she needs Caitlin to be relevant. Caitlin Clark lives rent free in Angel Reese’s head.

@@maxxgold1 kinda like Lebron trying to make himself a rival of MJ don't you think?
@maxxgold19 күн бұрын
@@sleepyheadz No, because the media does that all on their own. I think LeBron wanted to have the relationship that Kobe had with MJ, but because of LeBron’s pride, he could never reach out like Kobe did. MJ didn’t want anything to do with Kobe, but Kobe just kept on trying to have that relationship. And, rightly so for Kobe.

Messing with the ear can impact your balance which can then cause your shooting to be off. I hope she can still shoot 3s.

Something tells me the reason they aren't playing at the United Center is they don't want it to appear as another sell out due to CC. They want it to appear as just a bit bigger than a normal game except I heard some tickets were going for $9000.

If I were Caitlin...I would go somewhere I am CELEBRATED and not (in)tolerated...the WNBA does not DESERVE her...she who singlehandedly is raising the level of the game...t'hell with them...they are incapable of rising to Caitlin's level, and she refuses to SINK TO THEIR LEVEL...!!

Saying it is just another game probably pisses Angel off even more.

The Chicago Sky game will be played at a small venue, Wintrust center 10,387, as opposed to where CC wanted it, the United Center, 23,500 seats. This will be the 2nd time the fever will play in a WNBA court.

CC is right,she knows her Games sells out and NBA complains about not earning enough money from WNBA but they didn’t let them play at Bulls Stadium which would’ve filled up so much seats 🤦🏽♂️

If I remember that game correctly, it occurred when Caitlin ran into Brianna Stewart who had set her feet for a screen. It was a hard hit, but it wasn’t done intentionally. If anything, her own teammates should have warned her she was about to run into a screen.
@bill_of_rights56489 күн бұрын
You're correct about that particular play. However, in case you hadn't noticed, CC has taken more than her fair share of intentional over-the-top fouls and flagrant fouls! That's what much of this commentary is referring to.

Here is an update on why the game between Indiana & Chicago on Sunday, June 23rd was not moved to the United Center. The United Center is booked for 5 straight days with Music Concerts. Janet Jackson on June 19th. Jhene Ako on June 20th. Justin Timberlake for 2 Nights, June 21st & 22nd. Lastly for Sunday. June 23rd, Russ.

When it comes to playing at the United Center, for all those who don't know they use the facility for all type of events and this weekend they have a Timberlake concert on Today and tomorrow they have another big concert. So this is why they can't move locations.

Stop watching all games EXCEPT for Caitlyn’s games. For some reason the league doesn’t understand protecting their star players. Even the NFL protects their stars.

Not really been much of a rivalry . Other then the Championship game in 2023 , Clark has come out on top every game so far this year. And the 2023 championship game, Reese was saved by a career game from bench player Jasmin Carson with 22 points . Reese only had 15 points and 10 rebounds , 5 assists to Clarks 30 points , 2 rebounds and 8 assists .

Given how refs and the league has reacted, they still have declared open season on CC. No amount of public outrage will stop other players from mugging CC and refs and league letting it go.
