Caitlin Clark's WORST Teammate is Ruining the Fever.... In this video we are going to be talking about Caitlin Clark, the number 1 pick in the WNBA draft and how she is hated by WNBA players. Caitlin Clark was drafted number 1 by the indiana fever after being one of the greatest college basketball players of all time. WNBA players like A'Ja Wilson, Diana Taurasi, Breanna Stewart and Sue bird are not fans of the number 1 pick.

That is the issue I have with stats. CC22 makes a good pass that the receiving player mishandles, and CC22 gets the turnover in the stats. This can be done for any player, not just CC22.

@@roxydejaneiro5640 certainly it could be. just that apparently coach Sides doesn't set plays around CC, even when the game is at stake, and her teammates aren't good at catching her passes (and yes, she passes too quickly or at the wrong time sometimes -- seems like leftover habits from Iowa, when she could get away with that), and very few people give her the ball if they don't have to. so she's not being used well. so when she isn't playing her way, is that because she's realized she isn't going to get any cooperation? or because her coach told her not to? I've also watched top team, including the Aces, the Sun and the Liberty win many games because they have great TEAM players. Getting back to Mitchell, you can see it in her body language, that she thinks she's the center of the universe and she doesn't give a damn about anyone else. Its all about her ... Between her, and lousy players Erica Wheeler and Wallace, and a crappy coach in Christie Sides, the Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark are doomed. I actually wonder if the owner and management of the Indiana Fever are paying attention and give a damn about winning. In hockey, there are so few goals that everyone sees who made a mistake, allowing the opponent to score. Your defensive game is evaluated. Objectively, all players have +/-, in reference to themselves individually. In basketball, because someone is scoring every 10 seconds, nobody is evaluated with any objective criteria whatsoever. In addition, offensively, a player can get “ assists”. Offensively, though, there is no parameter for “ non conversions”, after your teammate just passed you the ball. A players ppg is a facade; it has nothing to do with how you’re contributing to your team.
@outsidethegarden
@outsidethegarden 4 күн бұрын
as a complete newbie, this frustrates me. you can rack up rebounds by reshooting your own missed shots. you can rack up turnovers because your teammates weren't looking out for a pass they should have expected. assists only count if the other player scores. the system penalizes team players, and rewards more self-focussed players who just want to rack up their shots and their physical play at the basket.

Kelsey Mitchell reminds me of Vinny "The Microwave" Johnson from the Bad Boys Pistons, and she would excel at the same 6th man role. The issues are 1) who can play the Joe Dumars role for Indiana, and 2) how can you pay the 6th man more than Sabrina Ionescu, Breanna Stewart, or Kelsey Plum - which is what Mitchell makes. I'll also point out that Erica Wheeler makes more than any of the aforementioned players.

Hell you need a good bench to be in the upper half and they don't have that. The fever are 3 players and that's it.

My take is Kelsey Mitchell is an elite scorer that for a rookie version of Caitlin benefits the team way more than she hurts the team. For the most part Clark and Mitchell play well together however if I were the fever at the end of the season I would look to trade Mitchell for a 3&D wing type of player that doesn’t need that many shots to be impactful and can run and finish in transition ideally. Right now Clark needs to expand on her inside the arc game primarily shooting some midrange shots and using a floater because rn she realistically can’t average 18 shots a game rn or like 14-16 of those shots will be threes and defenses will find that too predictable but as Clark grows her game it’s better to find players that compliment her and Boston’s game and don’t need as high usage/shots that Mitchell needs to be effective

This team can play okay team defense against some teams. But it lacks good individual defenders (and that includes Caitlin). So, they have to put up a decent amount of points to win these games. For all of Kelsey's faults, she is one of their most reliable offensive weapons. Take her off the floor - like when she was recovering from an injury to start the year - and this team really struggles to score. They need Kelsey's offense this year. Hopefully, next year, they will have more shooters and better defenders and Caitlin will improve her strength and ability to attack and finish in the paint.

If the Fever decides to build the team around C.C., which they may not do, you can't have a freelancer running wild. A QB can't have a running back that can't run patterns. The players have got to cohere with C.C.'s style. A strong defense may ultimately be more valuable than a high scorer if you've got two decent shooting guards and a strong power forward. Carrington and Smith could easily sabotage C.C. Bad idea. Ironically, Angel Reese and Chennedy Carter could be ideal for a C.C. directed offense except A.R. is a basket case in more ways than one. (Chennedy Carter is actually quite bright.) Point being that if K.M. could adjust to C.C.'s leadership, great. But the Fever may go the other way and force C.C. to adapt to K.M. and the chaos that's always threatening to erupt at any moment.
