I belong to the Chakma tribe but still even though I don't have much knowledge about the history of Chakma and even we most of the Chakmas still don't know our alphabet yet because we still don't have our permanent land so. Now we Chakmas living in India for many years but sometimes we feel like we Chakmas living here temporarily because of the poor situation and everyone against us and despise us. Dear Gaurab garg.. thank you for the wonderful video .. i am sure many people will be benefitted from this video. I personally feel its a noble approach, please keep doing the same. Having said that i want to add few points, i am sure you have done intensive research to present the facts but there are few points i want to offer clarity or the truth. Yes many chakmas fled to india during the mentioned years but not all chakmas in india are from then east pakistan. There were good numbers of chakmas already present in mizoram, assam and tripura even during 1947( when india got independence).... Also when chakmas fled to india..along with them many mizos and mog fled to mizoram. Many mizos who were part of myanmar came to mizoram but history choose not to mention that because culturally they were same with the major population in mizoram. The CHT shares boundaries with mizoram and tripura and when officially boundaries were defined after india's independence some CHT part fell in tripura and mizoram. Research papers and articles about chakmas were manipulated badly ..i am sharing the truth which was not highlighted by many writers.. You got good followers and i want them to know the hidden truth ... Please dont get me wrong ....soon i will share a video about chakma community and will mark you personally because you do good for students-knowledge sharing.. Important point: when India got independence many chakma people hoisted india flag because CHT people wanted to be part of india .. but 🇧🇩 bangladesh (then east pakistan) army attacked the chakmas. CHT was princely state and governed by chakma kings. Many princely state like tripura, sikkim etc voluntarily joined india but the chakmas faith has been the worst. Even today many chakmas are there in myanmar but these numbers are not the reason of kaptai DAM. They were part of myanmar since 500 years .. And about demanding for union territory for the chakmas (the chakma land) needs to be reelooked.

A complete failure from our Govt. They just concentrate on Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Open any news channel also every thing is from UP, Bihar, and Delhi. I am also a member of Chakma community. My home is in Bangladesh. I can understand Hindi language. The history of the hilly region of Bangladesh is a very painful history. In 1986, I was just one year old. Then, with the help of the Bangladesh Army, the Bengali Muslims hacked to death hundreds of Jummas. Killed my mother, grandmother, and cousin from my family. I was so young that I can't remember my mother's face. Then we took refuge in the Indian state of Tripura. I thank the Government of India for this.

In tripura. More than 90 % benagli refugee from bangladesh and their population is morethan 30 lakhs.in 2011 census....so because of bengali refugee the origin of tripuri people became minority in 2001 census tripuri people percentage was 36 % and in 2011 it was in 26% its just decreasing.... Maybe after 20 year later the origin of tripuri people will be vanish from indian census because of bengali refugee...in now a days also the bengali refugee is coming and its not stoping and the interesting thing is before entering in india they are able to get voter i.d ration card and indian citizen through agent by giving money.... and state govt is not taking any action of this refugee Sir plese help us ......we also want to live ..... Mizoram and other North Eastern States are very very small states. . . You have to understand that Mizoram state has a total population around 10 lacs only and the Chakma population is already about 1 lac. . That means they are already threatening the very existence and survival of the indigenous Mizo tribes in Mizoram. . And now as if it is not enough, the Central goverment is planning to welcome more of these people through its Citizenship Bill. I think the Central government doesn't care about the survival and existence of the indegenous people of the northeast at all. There is no big difference between the attitude of the Bangladeshi govt towards the Chakmas and the attitude of the Indian government towards the indigenous peoples of the northeast. Will any of the big states in India stays silent if 10% of their population is already made up of some alien peoples and the government decides to bring in more of those people? That is exactly what is being done to the states and the indigenous people of some of the northeast states like Arunachal and Mizoram. .

I have the answer to all of your questions. After the 1997 Chittagong accord, if at all the Indian government wants to do something for the sake of humanity, for the chakmas, it should fund for proper rations and settlement of the chakmas who return to Chittagong...instead of throwing the burden on the already struggling tribals of northeast. SIMPLE!!! I don't understand why you guys are even debating about chakma and humanity anymore To all the people saying, Ismein chakma ka kya galti hai, Put yourself in the shoes of chakmas, etc etc. You have no idea about the rate of reproduction these chakmas have. They've gone from 5000 to 2 lakhs in only 50 years (since 1970 in Arunachal). How's that humanly possible??? 2nd, Chakmas in Arunachal live like they own the land. They've occupied thousands of hectares of land, and threaten the locals. Oh and they are very well educated Their Arunachal Chakma unions are full of lawyers and UN representatives and what not. Lastly, they are doing the same thing to Arunachal's local tribes, what the Bangladeshis did to them. If anybody here need to Ingram some empathy into themselves, it's the chakmas. They've been through it, and yet are willing to pour onto their host the same misery that they had to go through, more or less. Plus, with all the efforts and money they invest on legal fights against the State and people of arunachal, they could've instead invested the same on fighting for their Chittagong rights

As an Arunachalee, let me share my view. The livelihood of majority of the tribal people of my state still depend on forests resources, like hunting, shift cultivation, fishing, wood for house building and cooking, selling forest products etc. Since this chakma-hajong community settle in forest area and starts spreading their area, thus threatening the livelihood of my people. 2) The majority of students depends only on state government jobs, since no industry is present there for private jobs. And we can't compete for the central jobs. And today's generation of Arunachal is in great risk, every year around 10,000 students complete 10+2 but the jobs vacancies is very less in compare to students produces. So, unemployment will be a big social problems in coming 5 years. It's upto state and central govt to solve this issue fast.

Thank you sir for your reply. Sir, with due respect, Arunachal Pradesh is big in term of area but in terms of cultivation and residential wise, the land area is small. And the chakmas-hajong tribes are settling only in plains area. There is a dist- Changlang, the govt of india gave them land for their settlement in that district, but now the indigenous tribe-Singpho are being out number. And now their land is in danger. The 1500 citizenship is given in that district. They take settlement in the reserved forest ( declare by govt. of India), that forest area which is being preserved for our future generation is being taken by them. If they take settlement in hilly and mountainous area then it is ok because the density in that area is 1 per sq km.

few corrections here, 1) jum is a method of cultivation in the hills, all the indigenous ppl use this method, it's a slash and burn Technic which requires a fresh piece of land every year, making most of the hill tribes nomadic. 2) the Tripura Mizoram and Cht hills are all connected, part of the same land mass. part of same hill ranges and before the political lines were drawn, even before the british, ppl moved about these hills without restrictions looking for new patches of land every year. this is true for all the tribes from now divided states and countries. you will find tripuri tribes in both Mizoram and Cht, you will find mizo tribes in both Tripura and Cht. and like wise you will find chakmas in both the Indian states

I pray god to give strength to my brothers and sisters of Arunachal pradesh to tolerate these outsiders. I am with native people of North East India... But on the other hand I also accept that the fact that Chakma peoples are facing a lot of problems.. But it is not good to give all the burden to north east India where they are creating insurgency. A lot of developement is needed in Arunachal pradesh and rest of north east.. I wish that Indian government focus to develop our north east towns like Itanagar, Kohima, Dibrugarh, Naharlagun, Imphal, Aizawl, Agartala and others like Mumbai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Pune.. Indian government must provide govt jobs to our North East peoples, we need to start economic zones there so that we need more options.. Arrange proper schools/colleges/educational institutions.. I am very sad when I hear that everyone who came in our politics did nothing for North east.. Also I strongly urge all my rest of Indians to STOP DISTINGUISHING between north east people by saying Chinese, Nepali etc. These are our brothers and sisters only.
