Thank you for sharing this... They are so lovely. Please can I put the cake in the freezer after crumb coating since I don't have a fridge ?
@moonlightmel92463 жыл бұрын
Yes you could, it wouldn't take long for the frosting to firm up in the freezer so you wouldn't have to wait long😊
@kamariadenny52953 жыл бұрын
Yes just dont leave it too too long
@CakesbyLynz3 жыл бұрын
Hi Audrey, as Melissa and Kamaria said, yes you can definitely do this if you don't have a fridge. It will firm up alot quicker so you only need to pop it in for a fraction of the time. You also don't want the cake to be too cold as when you add the next layer of buttercream around the edge if the cake is very cold it can start to set quite quickly. So keep checking it, to see when its firmed up.

I'm so glad you like it. The texture combs are so good aren't they, and such an easy way to add an interesting texture. In regards to the stencils it's definitely worth looking at different brands as the prices can vary.

Thanks for your tutorials, they are so easy to follow, it seems like a joke ... when i'm a trainee ... just a question for you .. the stencil, can it be used with Swiss buttercream? how is it done? I tried this technique with stencil, and when I put the stencil around the cake, damage the smoothness of the cake

If you’re stacking, would you add the pattern after stacking or before?
@CakesbyLynz3 жыл бұрын
Hi Latoya, In terms of the texture contour comb and the stencil I would add the pattern before and then make sure the cakes are chilled back in the fridge before stacking. This way when you stack them the buttercream is firm so you can position them in place. If you were doing the first rustic technique you could do this either way, personally I would do it before and then place in the fridge before stacking, but this one could also be done once the cakes are stacked.

I have someone who wants a wedding cake with that second technique in THREE days! And I don’t have that tool! Any other options?
@ashleerobinson52 жыл бұрын
I tried to use the combs it seems like a lot of icing is scrapes out. It’s like the butter cream freezes and it’s hard for me to smooth. Should I let the cake sit if the cake is frozen before I put the final layer on the cake . . It’s a lot of peeling

@CakesbyLynz3 жыл бұрын
Hi Linda, I am so glad you liked the 2nd and 3rd one. For the 1st one I wanted to keep it really rustic, so I didn't want to go in too much to tidy it up, I just got any larger bits of buttercream off, but you definitely could keep going around to get any excess bits of buttercream off. I'm sorry you thought it could have been a lot neater x
