Update about accessibility: there is an elevator to get in, so it is accessible! Another update! The Sky Lobby in the Mori JP Tower was only open to the public temporarily. Since 17/04/24, it's now only for businesses located in the skyscraper. But Tokyo Tower's only a short walk away!
@eddiecochrane6028 күн бұрын
Thanks for the update, a guide took me and my family to the lift as we have limited mobility. The lack of seating (understandable since it would disrupt the art work) was a problem for us. So if you have issues being on your feet for an extended period of time I advise to utilize the seating in the two toilet areas. Since we were not limited by time once we'd entered, we were able to head back to the seating areas as much as needed.
@cakeswithfaces7 күн бұрын
@@eddiecochrane602 Thanks for the tip - you're right, there's hardly any seating around. Hope you got by ok everywhere else - there are so many times I've wished there were more benches around Tokyo when our feet are aching after walking so much. Parks often have somewhere, but in rainy weather it can be more difficult.

Went to the initial team labs in Odaiba in 2019. Didn’t realize the Azabudai Hills was the same one that moved over from Odaiba until about halfway through my visit. I have to agree that Odaiba was better with that large ball room and a couple others. One last FYI to anyone @ 18:00 Floor 33 Observation tower will be closed to guests permanently and will only be accessible to residents of AHs from April 24, 2024. There are signs posted around when I went last week.

I just saw that yesterday! That'll explain why the Sky Lobby in the Mori Tower wasn't being advertised anywhere. Glad you got in just before it closes to the public. It seems like TeamLab in Okinawa has several of the installations that used to be upstairs in the original TeamLab Borderless, so maybe they sent them there.

Hi Amy - Cakes with Faces. My wife and I just got back from Japan. We visited TeamLab Borderless during our stay. Your video was very helpful, and I believe we found all the rooms inside (maybe). My wife loved the tea room a lot. We spent more than 2 hours inside, time flies when you're having fun. Thanks again for your excellent information thru your channel and your book, both are highly appreciated and very helpful when trying to figure out what to do in Japan. We took your advice and booked Green Car tickets with oversized baggage space at the rear of the car. We rode the Nozomi 18 train from Shin-Osaka to Tokyo Station, the journey took 2 hours 27 minutes, and we arrived only a few seconds after the scheduled time at 2:30 PM - highest speed recorded was 291 Kmh or 180 Mph 🙂

My first Teamlab experience and I was very impressed.

I was surprised it wasn't that obvious where to go when you arrive at Azabudai Hills! I guess maybe because it's a complex where people live and work, not just tourist attraction. TeamLab Planets for example has a huge sign on the outside of the building that's very obvious as soon as you exit the station. 😂

It appears the locker room is before the actual entrance where you show tickets. What's the policy on how long things can be stored in the locker area if you leave the premises? I'm planning on leaving my bags there maybe 5 or so hours. I imagine 3 hours in TeamLab Boderless, and when I'm done, I want to quickly walk over to see Tokyo Tower up close which appears to be a 7-minute walk (just seeing it, not paying to get up to the deck), grab a quick bite to eat for dinner and just walk around the area a bit. I think as long as I'm back before 9PM, I should just be able to go back into the TeamLab building to retrieve my luggage?
@cakeswithfacesАй бұрын
You're right, Tokyo Tower's within walking distance (I've walked there afterwards as it's so close!). The lockers at TeamLab Borderless are before the ticket gates. There's a member of staff standing in the corridor before you get to the lockers, but as I remember, I *think* they're there to help and direct rather than check everyone's tickets. However, as TeamLab Borderless is so busy, to be considerate to others, you're not really supposed to use them all day, just while you're there. If you went and couldn't find an empty locker because other people had done the same, it'd be a pain. There are other lockers around Azabudai Hills (it's an indoor complex, similar to a shopping mall), and at the stations nearby, where you could leave your bags if you don't want to carry them around for the rest of the day.

@cakeswithfaces8 ай бұрын
Glad you discovered it - I'd definitely recommend it to anyone! :-) It's tricky to say which is best as I haven't been in the evening. Looking at ticket availability, the morning tickets sell out first so that suggests the evening may be quieter. However you'd have people who've entered in the afternoon still there, and if you go at opening, it's just you and the first batch of people so it's quieter. I expect the later it gets, the more people will have left and gone home - but make sure you allow enough time to look round - you can easily spend 3 hours there.
