Thank you for this information, I sustained bilateral calcaneus fractures about three years ago. I was 17 years old at the time and had subtalar fusions about three weeks after the initial fractures in which I fell 35ft straight onto my heels like a pencil. Its very difficult to live with but I'm just trying to get through each day.

Do you qualify for Disability?

@davidcasas1943 Hi, yes, I quality for disability because I still have a lot of pain in my feet and it's difficult with the subtalar fusions.

What about other minimally invasive options. Closed reduction (joystick) n multiple k wire fixation, older methods of spIke elevation n cast application, percutaneous CCS fixation

mmk Ryan I completely agree with your comments. The aim is to achieve the goals enlisted in the talk. That is to reconstruct the subtalar joint and restore the calcaneal height. The method which is used to achieve that goal depends on your individual expertise

Hi good sirs. please consider fall from height into water. About 5 feet. Athletic male, 40s. Barefoot, landing on angular Rock, 2 feet under water, other foot landing ok. Anyway foot was like a balloon, no weight bearing, didn't want bad news so avoided er and xray for one week, at which point i was told to go get a cast by radiologist. However at hospital they then refer me to Orth surgeon who wanted to plate and screw the outer side. But, I don't think there's a fracture there. The CT only shows minor fragments where the heel meets navicular or cuboid.. that area.. I can stand now 3 wks after injury. But can't walk. Is this surgery candidate?
