When they got the pet they didn't have the funds to have a pet. They should have made the choice do not have a pet. But they're selfish.

I hear that a lot but what I don't hear is a lot of talk about self-improvement. In the end, people tend to get paid what they are worth to the employer. Why is it that the very last thing anyone ever wants to do is put forth the effort to make themselves worth more? Why is that most people's last resort when it should be the first? Go to college (yes, anyone can do it), learn a new trade, pick up a side hustle....... there are endless possibilities.

I think I am a rarity on pets, they are pets. I am not going into debt for my pets health. Or using all my emergency fund on a surgery for one.

Yeah. Same. People throwing out the pet example always confuses me. I have four cats, but I'm not spending the emergency fund on one.

@@kimberlymacgregor9340 Wow. Maybe take it down a notch. Jesus. I’m a fantastic mom and we have pets. But I am not going into debt for my 12 year old dachshund or using our emergency fund on her. If you would be willing to go into years of debt or use what should be used for your children or spouse in an emergency on your decrepit cat instead, maybe you don’t deserve kids. Seems like your priorities aren’t right for parenting.

@@katherinelipari6610 Exactly. Love my pets but the emergency fund is for human emergencies. And if my cat would need a $15k surgery to save its life or prolong its life a few years, I’m not doing it. I think people that would are the people in debt up to their eyeballs and wonder why.

@@raneylee9617 yeah. I have four kids as well as four cats. Cannot imagine blowing the emergency fund we have in case something happens to one of the actual babies in our house to give our geriatric cat an extra six months. Money does not grow on trees, and humans matter more. People be crazy sometimes.
