I love the fact that Caleb always calls Nott "Veth" when Yeza or Luke is around. Also, the friendly "Goodbye Yeza" "bye Caleb" was awesome to me - It was such a subtle way for Caleb to go "I'll look after her" and for Yeza to go "I know" without actually saying it

I'd wager character is a large part of it. Critical Role - he spends most of the time playing a character for an extended period of time. Not to mention his normal VA work. Being an actor or rather being a character gives you chances to create those moments that thinking as yourself otherwise wouldn't allow.
