This hurt me more the farther along it got. He sounds like he is lazy. I feel like if you truly want something you would sacrifice everything to try to achieve it. The part that hurt the most was him saying he wasn’t going to sell the car bc he loves Honda so much and loved his job. If he loved it so much he should have kept that job while also trying to model, act, whatever it is. He honestly should step into car sales, think he’d do well with Honda. I've noticed a few of them. These guys think they're gonna be actors, comedians, something famous and to them this is just a "job". Idk if he pays them, but if he does, maybe it counts. If not, they think it'll help them get famous. I hope to God that it doesn't do that for any of these types because they're not here to help anyone but themselves and they're not here genuinely trying to improve a problem they've had. To the people reading the comments, as someone who has worked for a credit card company, please don't pay your rent with cash advances. It doesn't 'help' your credit at all, regardless of what George thinks. You're just paying fees, that's it. Only ever do those in emergency situations and NOTHING ELSE.
@darkpraxis
@darkpraxis 2 жыл бұрын
I was going to ask, how does having a revolving credit card balance and taking cash advances on lines of credit improve your credit score? It can't be any better than just paying your balance off every month. You don't get extra points for donating your money to Visa and Mastercard through fees.
@eametichonmobile
@eametichonmobile 2 жыл бұрын
As an experienced banker in the largest US Bank, cash advances are the dumbest decision ever. It screams desperation every-time I see a cash advance as most of the time it’s the last option to cash fund access. The fees are not worth it as the I retest accrues immediately and many times the reason you are paying the fee is because the bank sees it as a higher risk of non payment because it’s CASH. How do they know you aren’t buying drugs? Many times the cash available for an advance is only a portion of the card. You are better off with a personal line of credit over a dumb cash advance on a card.
@redrover438
@redrover438 2 жыл бұрын
@@darkpraxis It doesn't. Cash advances aren't purchases so there's no points that you receive for them with most cards. Revolving balance matters as far as the percentage that gets reported to the bureaus to make up your utilization rate, but that's only once a month. George is just not well versed in how credit cards work, and its a common issue.

I was flabbergasted by this as well. If it was really about maintaining a high credit score he'd pay his rent from savings (which is what he said he was doing earlier in the video) and pay his card off in full every month. Taking out a cash advance only to maintain a credit score seems crazy to me.

What a man-child. I have met guys like this. They see their life as a "gamble" but in actuality they make high-risk, low-perspective choices while ignoring folks who warn them of danger. The main thing they lack is humility or any willingness to heed the advice of others. Some never learn it. You could see it in how he fought you on every single thing you said. They are convinced that they know better, that they will be the exception. The big question is who will be there to catch him when he falls. A parent, sibling, or a girlfriend. I really hope when he does, it will teach him to slow down and learn how to actually invest wisely in himself.

One day I realized that I had nothing to fall back on and returned to the US. The plan was to buy a little condo with the little money I had left. Little did I know I could not afford anything anymore due to inflation. So now I'm starting over at 50. I wish I would have understood when I was younger that being happy didn't mean abandoning my financial goals and responsibilities. It was so much easier making money ten years ago than it is now. I’m 33 and save/budget on a weekly basis and always put aside some fun money so that I can enjoy life as well as manage my money. I booked a day trip to Boston to do whale watching in the next couple of weeks. I have a sinking fund called “Fun” and I have money there to do fun day trips, eating out, movies, etc. it makes the financial journey manageable and not feel super boring lol.

Seriously. It sounds like he had two competing dreams -- one is to model/act, and two is enjoy life by spending money. He can't afford both for long. Many hopeful actors, including those interviewed on this channel, usually have a waithelp job or other service job while hustling for that breakout role that may never come. Just not working at all and living it up with meager savings is just irresponsible. Go for your dream, but be responsible.

There are heaps of people who have (and have not) made it and worked while chasing the dream. He’s not willing to sacrifice eating out because that’s “looking after himself” and “keeping himself happy”. That’s ridiculous. He’s not willing to sacrifice in the short term so he can chase the dream for longer. He’d rather continue his same lifestyle and only chase the dream for half the time. He’s shooting himself in the foot. If being happy is so important to him, why is he doing this financial audit? He obviously doesn’t care about his financial situation and while he’s not working consistently there’s no real point discussing his financial goals and future. I wonder if this is just a part for him to try and put himself out there a little more. If it is, I hope he realises that this makes him look bad and shows how unlikeable he is. This is rather mean - but with his attitude, I hope he doesn’t make it. His attitude toward the world is just unrealistic and he needs a reality check. I hope he has to go back to getting a regular job and puts his life back together. Golden Chick will still taste the same and make him just as happy.

If me and a most people I knew ate nothing but $500 worth of fried chicken and burgers for a month we'd become fat instantly. Just the grease alone in all that fucks your skin normally and makes you break out. But this dude apparently has done it constantly for years and is thin, in good shape, with good skin too. Apparently "happiness" is just eating $500 of fatty foods every month and still looking good, which literally isn't realistic for like 99% of people. It's ridiculous. He also had a sales role at a car dealership where those types of jobs generally hire more off looks than anything. Those same types are also usually delusional because they talk up their game to try to sell you something. It's where the whole idea of a good looking scummy car salesman comes from lol. And that's literally what he's doing with his actual life too. Claiming sacrifice, claiming he's all about good food, yet he's just spending half his income on fast food. No fine dining. Just fast food. No real sacrifice. Wow he doesn't go shooting as often. Holy cow. What a sacrifice! I've watched all the audits so far and loved them. By this, he will somehow avoid death in every instant, live a long unfulfilling life with uncontrollable debt that affects not only himself, but all those around him. Also, if he is an "auto guy", why doesn't he buy a beater and fix it up himself which saves so much money on minor servicing costs?

@@Faisaldegrt some plan to fail, some fail to plan. Some plan and then never take action because the plan isn't "perfect". Sometimes, the best thing to do is just to do it and if it fails, adjust. He says he wants to put his everything into chasing his dream. Get rid of the car, work 6 months and save as much as possible, buy a beater and work on it. Anime? Stream it for free or watch it with ads, he can't afford to pay for that. If he is a foodie, learn to cook as its fun and a good skill to have. Not enough time in the day? Set up a way to apply as much as possible in the shortest amount of time possible for gigs, something automated or hire someone to outsource that to while doing side jobs/main job with reliable income. Yeah, I'm also one! There are good and bad, just like any generation!

He said he's 25. I think that puts him on the outside edge of being Gen Z. So you don't have to claim him, Caleb. 😂

@@user-nc7oh2rn7f That's how old I am, but I consider myself a millenial. Whever the label, I don't think it really matters. I just see a clear divide between the mindset of between older generations and younger ones. This whole notion of "I want to be happy" and not wanting to sacrifice seems to be very common with people my age. again it's a generalization, but I just see it so often, especially in these vids.

@@danielratner I'm an older millennial. You're right, it is a mindset difference of having/wanting to struggle to get what you want vs banking on the possibility of "overnight success with vague goals of I want to be famous on Tik Tok or KZbin." You ask some of them what unique perspective they are bringing to that platform to stand out and it's "I dunno, I want to be famous."
