I should have watched this before stopping by the tackle shop on a whim. First time trying drop shot. I did get swivel hooks and cylindrical weights (good cause its grass im dealing with) however I went with 1/8 weights. Figured on my ultra light setup it was a good weight. Guess I should head back while Im still in the city.

Depends on how deep you are fishing and the wind/current. Under 15’ with not much wind and a small bait you’d be fine with 1/8.

Nice fishing!! How do ya keep it from snagging the bottom brush pile? Do ya bury the hook into the bait?

I don’t actually fish in the brush with this rig. I try to fish the outside of the wood cover. That usually does the trick. You can Texas rig a dropshot as long as you upsize your line and leader and rod to get a better hookset though.
