@@NeroMMA if I may ask. Do you know a great way to set combo for a calf kick?
@NeroMMA3 жыл бұрын
The same way you would set up a lowkick bro! Jab - low. Hook - low etc

Interesting, came out of the dojo limping after knockdown training with a big red welt on my calf. Hadn’t noticed it, but clearly effective. Someone else at the dojo is watching your videos too. Smart advice about the bag being hard. Thanks for the heads up. OSU

What is most effective way to defend calf kicks
@pquic3 жыл бұрын
conditioning... by conditioning your muscles, tendons and bone on the side of the leg you make it much harder for calf kicks to take effect
@manu11.203 жыл бұрын
@@pquic conditioning is great and all but if keep taking punishment from the calf kick then it will still hurt so just anticipate the calf kick. When you anticipated it you can do an overhand right (assuming your orthodox) then grab his leg on your left then take him down or you keep his leg to control his movement.

Ah man... these guys , especially mma guys are never fully versed when teaching others or competing. Pls beware and stop being impressed when you know not the standards that should be observed . Good luck all.

I'm a kyokushin karate blackbelt and I've been doing it for over 22 years. I've been using this kick for years, in fights. Who are you to question wether I am 'fully versed' or not.
@TEMUJINARTS3 жыл бұрын
@@NeroMMA Do I need to be someone special to point out you’ve missed out on some fundamentals? Let me give you a one hint since I’ve had many Kyokushin brothers and sisters out of respect.. One of the fundamentals of kicking generally ( depending the kick, but the round falls into this category) is you never kick in punching range. ( and vice versa). This is a common bad habit that carries over from kyokushin into kickboxing and or mma due to the nature and rules of competition kyokushin. As I said this is a fundament . Technique transcends with mastership. And you are no longer bound by such rules. But this is much later down the line and has nothing to do with teaching the basics of a kick or tech. Further, there is no reason to give your resume to prove something. That reminds me of a lesson I learnt in the playground when an older kid said to his friend: I did 6 years of elementary school and now 5 years of high school and I’m still not good at it!! Time passed does not alway equate to skill. Anyhow. Grain of salt...
@BernardoWLopes7 ай бұрын
@@TEMUJINARTS tell that to guys like Justin Gaethje lol he Times it well, high guards his Head completely and Steps off to the side.hardly gets hit clean during the calf kick. And you forgot the biggest rule of them all: there are no "rules". Everything is counterable. Timing and setup with low kicks is just as, if not more important , than being at range for a counter punch.
