In this video I ride Calgary Ctrain from Stampede through Calgary downtown to Banff Avenue close to Calgary University. Calgary's public transit network consists of buses and two Light Rail Transit (LRT) lines known as the CTrain.
CTrain is a light rail rapid transit system in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Much of the system functions as a high-capacity train light metro, while in the downtown free-fare zone, trains run like a modern tram with a dedicated right-of-way. This subway-surface alignment is known as semi-metro.

Sorry you ended up in one of the trains made up from the first gen cars. The newer (red) ones are much nicer. But, Stampede Week, more trains on the tracks with more frequent timing... so they had to pull a lot of the older cars back into service to handle the increased passenger load. People unfamiliar with what you took video of would think the passenger load was light... which it would be... going in that direction. But coming into the Stampede Grounds station would see folks crammed in like sardines. When I rode in from the deep south on the first Friday of the Stampede, people were no longer able to on-board starting about three stops from the grounds. You couldn't physically cram more people in, and the driver was using the PA system to tell folks to quit trying to squeeze in because if they block the doors... then the doors won't close.... and when the doors aren't closed, the train can't move. 🙂

Yea, Stampede week is very busy. We always walk to stampede ground from parade, because it's impossible to get on train.

wow, so many rude people occupying 2 seats and just stretching out intentionally so nobody sits next to them, it's amazing! In Europe someone would just sit next to you or on top of your legs if you didn't move your feet from the next seat. Also the trains look pretty old
