Harriet and I have ben to Calgary many times. We love the city. It's our favorite city in Canada. It's a city of many open spaces. The Gardens are beautiful. So easy to get around and so much to do. You guys have captured it's essence. Like many cities in Canada and the US . They are becoming expensive. Hope you guys are doing ok 🙏🙏 Best Wishes and Wonderful Thoughts .❤❤ Harriet, Jim and Yuki

as a local it's always great to see people enjoying your city, you always forget about some of the great things. I do have to be the pedantic local and say that to most of us, pronouncing it "Cal Gary" is like nails on the chalkboard. most of the locals will leave the second a out all together (Cal-Gree) or Cal-Gah-Ree 🙂 That being said, you got "Prince's Island park" Right, (as opposed to "Princess Island Park" so I think it's a net positive on pronunciation! Glad you guys enjoyed the city!

I have also heard good things about Calgary. With the fat idiot hell bent on ruining Toronto, we are looking to move elsewhere. Montreal is at the top of our list with it's good public transit and bike friendly mayors, but lately I have been considering Calgary also. Wonder if you guys got a taste of the public transit and were able to gauge the extent of bike infrastructure there.

Hi I'm from Calgary! For transit access and bike paths it really depends where you live in the city. I live in the NW and there are plenty of people who bike to work here and luckily we get chinooks throughout our winter. We have a bike path path and you can see most designated street paths are downtown and the NW. Compared to Montreal our climate is much drier though. For transit access it can be great in some areas, not so great for newer suburbs though, and the further away you get from the inner city. I've lived in the SW and the NW and I've found the NW much more accessible than the SW for transit and biking, but this is all a personal opinion too. I'm sure you can find more opinions on reddit etc.

What are you comparing that to? Also what are you basing it on? Sounds like just a random negative comment that lacks any context.

@@BrodyYYC It is a negative comment without context, but to maybe add some to the sentiment... Calgary has seen a massive population boom over the last few years due to various types of immigration (inter-provincial, international, etc.) thanks to effective government promotions out of province. According to recent reports this is the main reason we saw a massive increase to unemployment rates, even when factoring the many layoffs that happened. All of this contributes to rising costs, which is why Calgary is now considered an 'expensive' city, which means we spend a higher percentage of our income compared to other cities.
