I really like the idea of that system but initially thought 'wait for some reviews before buying'. Thanks for sharing your experience here👍

It’s easier to ignore the repointing tool adapter and just install the spigot attached to the point with the repointing tool. You can then get them out easier and replace easier.

@@NeilsDartsmine arrived yesterday and I thought that adapter bit didn’t look strong enough. I’m glad I didn’t use it after watching your video. How on earth is that supposed to be strong enough for getting the points in or out. I just used the repointer tool and that points with their spigot on and they went in fine.

The only advantage of using the adapter seems to me, that you maybe have no gap with the points with built in tridents and with the other ones that all 3 points have exactly the same length outside the barrel ...

Unfortunately i did voice my concerns on Darts Corners video that it may break, but now that has broken, you have no way of removing the spigot from your darts, i would like to see if once you remove the spigot, does a normal point still sit tight in the barrel, or has the spigot slightly widened the hole. Good review bud
@Chelskie-darts8 ай бұрын
I think a normal point would sit loose inside the nose end if a spigot had to break in it once it’s removed , and I’m basing that theory simply on the amount of changes of points I’ve made with my pl15’s …. I need to use lock tight with any points I use now to make sure they stay in solid , it is a good concept but ye your point is very valid mate not to mention if any cross threading occurs 😬

Could you not screw a point onto the spigot and then remove both point and spigot at the same time using a repointing tool, like you would with a normal point?

@@Chelskie-darts True, if the spigot itself breaks you're a bit screwed. But here it's the tool that's broken; should still be able to get it out by screwing a point onto the spigot and then removing both like a normal point, no?

So the point installer should be made of hardened steel cause that thing will be used again and again and eventually will break hope an update will be in the works but I like the idea

An innovative solution to removable dart points! But it obviously needs improvement. Maybe start with lubrication: putting a wee drop of oil might help unscrewing the repoint-tool part of the system. (To the manufacturer: change to a stronger material for the repoint-tool.)

Nice review and my experience of fitting these points yesterday almost mirrors yours. I didnt break the spigot tool but the force needed to drive these in it dosnt surprise me you did. One set of darts were not drilled deep enough so I removed them. Second set were just deep enough but a lot of force was needed to get them to bottom out. Once fitted to a compatable set of darts they are nice but there is the rub. These points are not going to fit properly in all darts.

Mine broke but found that did not need the special device to get them in and entered the others without issues and able change points all without the spigot
@justinress27828 ай бұрын
I think you will be better off, using the no lip points to get the spigot in. This way you will also get the spigot in consistently, but you won’t have the issue with the tool. Or am I wrong here?

Sounds spot on, good thinking.
@rossrobson918 ай бұрын
So my spigot tool snapped on the second point, tried just putting in with the spigot in the point and it bent the point right up so it’s easy to see now why the spigot tool is needed because the hollow part of the point where it screws in is quite weak, had to order some more spares now, will definitely use a bit of oil when the replacements come. They’ve now taken them down off the website, what a shambles 🙈

Withour testing it myself: How are you changing Points by simply uncsrewing it, when the point has the same diameter of the hole in the dart? Youd have to use the repointer to remove them in this case. So i guess that the point itself is a tiny bit thinner than the tool. Putting in the spigot with the point seems convenient, but i guess the risk of pressing it in not aligned correctly might be higher. Just guessing there.
@garethjohnston59638 ай бұрын
Can you just put them in an out using the points rather than the spigot tool?

Why not just change points with the point puller,like we used to, before this system?
@knutvoberg42368 ай бұрын
Is the question meant seriously - in other words: do you really not yet understand the advantages that such a system would have if it worked properly? Or are you just someone from the "everything-was-better-before-why-do-you-have-to-change-things-at-all bubble"? Then just say so and don't put this attitude in a question ... Obviously there are only people here who find the system interesting. Nobody intends to equip your darts with it against your will. So, there's nothing for you to see here - please move on! PS: Fun fact, the tool you suggest using is also used in this video so that you don't have to use it all the time afterwards because it's far too inconvenient, for example on an evening in the pub - ooops, I've already given one of several possible answers to your rhetorical question ...

@NeilsDarts what if you got the ones that eliminated the lip? These didn't go all the way in on your darts. That would mean if you got the ones with the lip, then there would be a gap resulting in them not fitting. Thanks for the reply.
@alanpowell46558 ай бұрын
Just a quick update, Neil, My Evo starter kit and points arrived today. You would think this would be an exciting time, but no! I went for the points that eliminate the lip, ine fitted perfect, but after that, it all went disastrously wrong! The tool you used to put the little spigot in wouldn't go all the way in after the first use, so I had to try with the points that came with the kit. This was OK for the second point, or so it seemed, the lip didn't reach the barrel, meaning it left a small gap. The third one bent the point and snapped off inside my dart barrel, leaving me with no darts for my league game on Thursday. Absolutely fuming. Seams this concept isn't ready for the market just yet and needs further testing. I have reached out to darts corner, but I'm still waiting for a reply.
