thank you guys for coming out here. some us were okay but we all worried about the older people, like yeah we can hike in some things but we needed these damn roads cleared and california pretty much dropped the ball. you guys came through and then some. its insane to think during a state of emergency a handful of youtubers and volunteers from other states made a bigger impact to the community than the local government, and were all thankful for it.

I like how the Fire Dept guy was explaining how they wanted to put together task forces. This is what is called the Incident Command System (ICS) as part of the National Incident Management System (NIMS). Anyone that does any sort of emergency response knows about this. It is a coordinated effort that allocates resources into manageable units so no one person has to manage any more than 5 or so resources. There are free online courses through FEMA Emergency Management Institute for ICS and NIMS. It might take an hour or so to go through the basic courses, but well worth the time.
