Latest Update from Watch Duty for the Bolt Fire:
"The fire has been mapped at 4,556 acres by FIRIS Intel 12. Their perimeter can be viewed on the Watch Duty map. In addition, dozer line is being put in straight north from the rodeo grounds on Hwy 180 per radio traffic.
Fire perimeter advisement: Please note that fire maps indicate the general burn area but do not detail the measures being taken to protect buildings and homes. Even if a building or home is within the marked fire perimeter, it doesn't necessarily mean it has been damaged or destroyed. These maps are preliminary and may be updated."

I can see the Bolt fire from my home in Clovis. I know people that live in Wonder Valley, the community on the NE side of the fire. Have not heard about any homes lost yet, let's hope that remains the case!

The bo t fire camera flame over was a very dramatic preventable disaster. Looks like a couple million dollars of property loss, what happened someone forgot to mow the grass? The surrounding trees remain unburned I wonder why?

Fantastic info and analysis! Glad I found you on safari search. Bishop Owens Valley seeing smoke come over the mountains which must be from these fires. I hope its a temporary issue as you mentioned winds will drive fires south? I a retired USFS biologist so wondering if you ever worked us. Your good dude!!
