I fully expected my Hybrida to be dormant when I ordered it this past month but was pleased to be able to enjoy 3 of the leaves which were still functioning, green and after a few days under my light... beautifully dewy. Such a treat. 🌱

You continue to keep the bog-like conditions or do you cut back on the water?
@California_Carnivores2 жыл бұрын
We do keep them sitting in water throughout the winter, especially when it is still warm. But as the colder days come on, it’s okay to let the tray dry out a day or two

That actually kinda explains what’s going on with my binata I thought it was dying and I was about to replace it
@California_Carnivores2 жыл бұрын
The binata are all starting to go dormant, even though it’s still very sunny and warm in our area. Plants always know what time it is and go dormant on schedule!

Thank you for the video! My sundew looks good and is producing new growth but has slowed down a lot on how much dew it’s producing. It’s been catching a lot of food lately, could it be slowing down the production of dew to stop catching so much food?

Is it grown indoors or outdoors? How much light is it getting?

Do you still keep them in water during dormancy? I'm worried about killing mine off from leaving them in water in winter like I would during the summer (this is my first dormancy with my sundews)
@California_Carnivores Жыл бұрын
We keep them in water in the winter, letting the rain do a lot of the work!

My Sundew is 3 cm long with 6 tentacles and it has flowered and I gave it an ant yesterday and I didn't see its body. It may be that the ant is dead and moldy or that my Sundew is dead.

Question do you guys sell woolly sundews so if possible you guys can do a video on it
@California_Carnivores2 жыл бұрын
We don’t regularly sell wooly sundews. We may get some in next year and if we do, we’ll do a care video! They’re definitely beautiful and interesting plants to grow!

Thanks honestly I asked because I own one more specifically Drosera Fulva

Can we activate them out of dormancy?
@California_Carnivores Жыл бұрын
It’s possible but it can be bad for the plant. Make sure you let them get at least eight weeks of dormancy before before you bring them out, if you want to artificially.
