Another good tip: run the fridge on your mains at home before you go on your trip... getting it to temperature takes a lot of power!

Hi Chris and thanks for all the useful info. One question that occurred to me was 'what happens if your leisure battery runs down or develops a fault when you have no access to external power and the roof is up ?'. Can the roof be lowered ?

Hi Chris, Could I please double check, you said that the under bonnet vehicle battery will charge also when the mains hook up cable is plugged in. I was told separately that the hook up only charged the two leisure batteries and not the main vehicle battery. You mentioned about a later battery and that the under bonnet is now a 12V leisure battery, my vehicle is an August 2019 built Ocean. I hope this is the case at it will help me in the winter when the vehicle is not used as much and will save dragging out the battery charger from the garage. Many thanks. Nick

VW California supplement T6.1 document Supports Chris commentary. “230V electrical feed enables..charging 12v vehicle and additional battery” “12V vehicle battery and additional battery are charged with max 15A” I was also initially confused as the uk key forums offered contradictory information.

Is the outside electric flap tamper proof for example if your parked on the road and someone comes along and rips it off you know how jealous people can get.
