I am going to be building them both! Love the tomato cage idea! This is perfect for cherry, grape, Juliette tomatoes that grow 7 foot and turn your garden into a jungle LOL! Now Kim, maybe one of those first things to do when starting such a project could include a bit of water and a biscuit or two for poor Max!! But please to beware for as you were assembling your first trellis I did notice the presence of a dark foot shadow in the video lol. Here I have a cattle panel up of t posts stretched out for length. Also doing a cattle panel hoop elevated on t posts as well. Also have an overhead bar about 8 feet up with string rollers dropping down. However, with the intensity and frequency of wind this spring, will need stiffen the posts. Yesterday was wonderful in the garden space prepping containers at 88 sunny degrees. Today, well today there is good moisture falling in the form of snow! Happy Gardening! -Bob...

Excellent repurposing of existing materials, gotta do that these days! I'm gonna build your A-Frame but my old hands can't handle those staplers, not all of us have the strong guns of a CaliKim 🙎‍♂. Has anyone done trellis using the old clothesline T bars? Just thinking I’d like to put the old line into good use. Maybe build a rectangular base at each Tbar and run vertical lines up and let the plants take the clothes line over. Anyone?

Quick question? Looks like you have quite a bit of shade, I have an issue with shade in my yard and have had a hard time with tomatoes , how many hours total do you need of complete sun to really be successful ?

Hello Eve, we always try to film early in the morning while the light is not so harsh - this spot is in shade until about 10 ish sun until the sun goes down in the evenings. 6-8+ hours is best for tomatoes, if you don't get that much, grow cherry or smaller variety tomatoes, don't need as much sun.
