Definitely am trying to do more long-form content this year (while still doing some Shorts). I'm a detail guy so I can discuss more things this way, so I'm enjoying it. It's a slightly different skill, but my editor and I are enjoying the process.

Usually when people say something is too easy for them, it's a coping mechanism to avoid doing something harder, which they usually know, but are ignoring. Thanks for this video, it's the "no excuse" guide for intermediate lifters :D

I partly disagree. People, especially those new to calisthenics, may not necessarily know where to go after they hit a certain point. They're not necessarily saying that the entirety of calisthenics is too easy, but what they are doing right now is too easy. In other words, they're looking to do something harder, at least in my opinion.

Hampton i cant thank you enough. I couldnt take any stairs without pain, not a single pushup with full motion anymore since i completly over trained my body ten years ago. I really thought i would never train normally ever again. Yesterday i did my first 10 squats after 3 months of your routines. You dont even know what this means for me but i want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your videos.

Hi Hampton! I love your videos. I appreciate your philosophy of improving quality of life and preventing injury. Would you please consider making a video on improving strength and healthy flexibility for people with hypermobility? I'd really like to start working out regularly again but find that, due to weak stabilising muscles and hypermobility, I'm highly prone to joint damage. I've found that (for me) calisthenics and isometrics are most effective, and the easiest to maintain longterm. I'd be really interested to see your ideas and perspectives on this stuff. With love from Australia!! ❤

In recent years, I’ve lived as a quadriplegic drooling into a bib due to neuromuscular disease. I’ve been fighting for years, and have now managed to regain most of my previous abilities. At my most fit, post-paralysis, I could walk marathon distances…but I’ve lost some ground again. I don’t want to end up anywhere near where I was, and that means I must do more. It’s a constant battle to stay active and ward off the effects of my disease, especially as I’m aging. So much of the effort involved is psychological, so I’ve been looking for additional motivation and stumbled on this channel. I really enjoy your content. Thank you for putting this out there.

Once I was to a place out of rehab, about two months of doing your daily exercises, I added them to a light weightlifting regime as a warm up before things like bench press and barbell lunge. I'm so thankful to you being so easy to approach for those of us starting at level zero. If I had tried just straight lifting out of bed, I probably would have collapsed immediately and hurt myself.

For the colour of the weights; visit your local auto(parts)shop and look into automotive spraypaints, would allow you to decouple what weights you get from what colours. Also, could allow you to have a consistent colour throughout (even if I must admit I like the randomness currently, so, ehm, get multiple paints?) Also, that jump over your own hand+foot kinda broke my mind, I don't have near the muscle coordination to even try that.

I get why people like weight lifting, because you can get easy feedback by weight going up. I like calisthenics because I find it a lot more fun, since you can do many slight variants of movements and you can learn cool skills. I remember randomly trying an L sit one day, not expecting to do it and I just managed it somehow and felt so happy

Being tall makes for a very long and slow calisthenics journey. 2-3 years of just bodyweight basics, 2 years of adding weight to the basics, and then even from the starting point of a +60kg pull-up, front lever took me another year to be able to do. Many skills are above my level, since I'm already 31, but it's been fun :)

Hey I have 2 kids under 5 so I've been where you're at. It's all about picking a time or a pattern and sticking to it. I do a lot of calisthenics while playing with my kids on the floor. It's at least something you're doing if you can't schedule a time to knock out some pushups/leg lifts/planks/squats. I have been doing lots of this stuff while watching TV with my wife at the end of the day, just do what you can and if you stick to it for a couple weeks that's enough to form a habit.

Hello I really love your videos and your pull up video helped me do my first pull up. However, I came across a big issue recently. I've been doing the 100 pushup everyday for 30 days challenge but on my third or fourth day I got a really bad headache after only doing 20 pushups in a row. Usually I can do 30 pushups in a row but the headache causes me to barely be able to do 10 in a row. The headache doesn't occur when I'm on my last 20-30 pushups for the day but it comes back the next day when I attempt to do pushups again. I thought it was only with pushups but today I did pullups and the headache occurred but 10 times worse. The headache isn't like the throb you get after you run a mile, it feels like its in the back of the head and it hurts bad for the first minute and then you can still faintly feel it for an hour or 2. This has never happened before please help. I don't want to have to take a Tylenol every time I want to work out.
