Imagine never having to feel that awkward embarrassment when you know you ought to make an introduction, but just can't remember someone's name. Kate Forrest shares unique memory tips on how to learn and recall people's names days, months, and years later.
Kate Forrest is co-founder of INFLUENCE, a company that coaches individuals in delivering captivating messages. She also teaches sales, public speaking, interior design, conflict resolution, and in 2013 gave a three day practicum on rhetoric. Kate is an avid learner and gifted teacher. Her fascination with the memorization process led her to research and develop methods that allow learners to access their brain’s power of memory. She recently taught a class where students learned how to memorize anything, including names. Kate is a native Montanan and resident of Bozeman for the past 14 years. She adores her husband Chris and says raising their four children makes life a crazy, messy, wonderful adventure!
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

Dear Kate Forrest, This is a wonderful speech. I loved how you showed what happens in our brain. The examples of Schindler and the commander shows perfectly the importance of using names. The ALI technique is simple and effective as well. I will remember this speech forever and will share it with my friends. Thank you Kate Forrest and TED. Regards Deepak

I completely get how the ALI can work for names. But how can it be applied for longer things. Like poetry, quotes, etc.?

Hi Kate, I never understood why I always like when a woman says my name, not a man, a woman, and if she doesn’t, I’m not very interested to talk to her! I’ll never know why I’m like that! Doesn’t have to be a romantic thing, just say my name and you got my undivided attention, very strange I know, ty Kate, regards, Bob,

Many thanks, I been tryin to find out about "how to ask a girl her name when you forgot" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Piyoren Incredible Prepotence - (search on google ) ? It is an awesome one of a kind product for discovering how to boost your memory power minus the normal expense. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my neighbour got excellent results with it.
