I bought a 64 PM grind last year and along with some tip videos from the man himself I took 5 or 6 shots off my game. People I play with thought I was dumb for using such a lofted club but it's definitely the single most game changing club I have purchased. Not saying it's for everyone but it's a damn fine club.

Mark Crossfield In my head. If you open up the face then the grooves are pointing right (rh golfer). Will this not exaggerate the left to right spin on the ball as you are hitting across the grooves. So if they add grooves that are angled the. It will straighten out the spin. That’s how my head reads it. I may be talking bs. What do you think Mark?

stu Correct - that's why you need to aim left if you open the face, as the ball will go a bit right off the club and spin a bit right on landing. Maybe if you used these clubs you would find you do not need to aim as far left. Probably a dozen shots around the chipping green would tell you.

Great video, now you need to do one that addresses how to deal with that tight lie. Was that even the right club to even try that shot based on distance, amount of green, and the tight lie? Maybe a challenge using different clubs: 60, 7 iron, Texas wedge??? Whats the more consistent/better play?
@pantha67985 жыл бұрын
I played with the previous edition of this wedge for a while in 64 degree. Great for the firm desert turf I play on here in the PHX area. Definite learning curve using this design of wedge. Actually found it better to not open the face of wedge... just allow the design of this wedge to do what it's meant to do. Sounds like you guys just landed on a new tagline for this club! I realize how spoiled we are in the states. That chipping area looks like absolute rubbish. Hats off to you guys. Winter golf in the UK doesn't look like much fun. I'm in Augusta Ga. We legitimately have 10.5 months of solid weather and local clubs aren't completely terrible. How hard is it to bend that wedge flatter.

Having just played through our summer I feel like my current wedges struggle with the tighter bare lies. How about a winter and summer set? How does that bounce thing work?? I've been tempted to get the old grinder out! And this was a funny video! Can't believe Coach lost that one with the Magic and Callaway on his side!

In my opinion, I think the kink is there so that when you open it up, it looks like the leading edge is not angled back as aggressively so it give confidence like you get when you have a square clubface

I hated the previous one. Didnt mind the funky and it looks and feels so friendly in your hand. And as long as you are around the green or hitting a flop shot, it was great. Any other shot would just gravitate towards the toe and over time I would shank trying to move away from there. Switched back to the sm7 and never looked back. Such a specialty wedge and couldn't game it. It is fun to screw around with though.

Man you are a machine when it comes to pumping out these vids eh? Not sure if you're back from holiday or if you've had a chance to read many of the comments, but I wanted to reiterate my note of thanks from last week: THANK YOU for all of the great content! I hardly watch much TV anymore cuz I can just go to your channel and watch your reviews, discussion of pertinent golf topics, or enjoy some on the course "muppet golf" that reminds me of all the banter I enjoy with my main golf blokes. Anyway, to my other main point, do you plan on reviewing Hogan's Ft. Worth "Black" irons? I think you did their original Ft. Worth 15's when they came out -- actually that was Rick Shiels I believe -- but I highly encourage you to get your hands on a a few clubs from the Black series as they are INCREDIBLE!! I've been a Hogan guy since 2004 and just reluctantly retired my FTX Apexes, and I'm so happy I did! My only regret is not buying these new Hogan irons when they first came out! They feel so good and they are much more forgiving than their previous generations. I'd love to hear your feedback on their forgiveness and play-ability. Hogan 2.0 is for real braaahh!! :-)

I think the idea that grooves are there purely to trap water and dirt etc is wrong. I know that's what the tread of car tyres are for but I think with golf clubs it's different. Golf club grooves are there to grip the ball and therefore get more spin, even in perfect dry conditions. The difference is, the club face - the thing with the grooves - is 'hard' steel and the ball is 'soft' urethane so the ball moulds into the grooves as the ball is struck and hence is 'gripped' more. Car tyres - the things with the tread - are soft rubber and therefore the 'hard' tarmac of the road doesn't mould into them as the tyres move along. Nice video though!
@JimboSRP5 жыл бұрын
Makes sense to me - there's the game that's not a game, so why not grooves that aren't a groove? Not sure I like the goose neck look, but if they do the job...
@JHOLE215 жыл бұрын
Any amount of milling and grooves made to help spin will produce a good amount of spin. Sure its marketing to a point but to say it doesnt do much is wrong. Especially if you're using good balls and clean strikes.
