See, this is the kind of stance I feel everyone should have, at least in the fanbase. I am a sapling myself. It sucks. But doom posting or taking stuff out of context will not do anything. I see people say a lot that Fauna quit, because she doesnt wanna do Idol stuff, but she even said herself that it isnt the reason. I have seen people say that the other members should have done something to stop them, because they knew before us but like Calli said basically...She'd want both of them to stay of course, like probably all of us too, but more than that she wants them to be happy. Also I don’t know what people expect them to do? When Ame graduated, Calli talked about trying to convince her to stay and it just wasn’t possible. Sometimes it’s possible to talk to them enough they can decide against it, but if they’ve made up their mind then it’s final.

@@Assasin2 You can't force someone to stay, and even if you could, all you would get is maybe another week of increasingly unenthusiastic content before they finally cut it off (probably in a manner far less calm). That's not to say that every decision to leave, or any decision is correct, but on top of fans not being in a place to know that, people need to be free to make mistakes as well (besides, if someone did leave, then promptly realized it was a mistake, I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to make a new contract)

And like, end of the day, us fans forget that they're work friends. Are they closer than you or I are to their work friends? Probably, yes, it's a thing the company cultivates and part of their job is getting to know each other and developing rapport and yadda yadda yadda, but they're still ultimately bound together by work - maybe there's closer friendships in there, but as Calli points out it's 90+ talents (even if you want to just count EN, 20 talents), if you think they're all the closest friends you're delusional. Now picture this: You're at the office and your work friend who you legitimately do get along really well with tells you they're quitting because they're either unhappy at your company or they've found something better. What do you do? How sad are you? You probably are a little bummed, but you're not in tears, and you're certainly not going to be there begging them to stay. You wish them well at their new job, are maybe wistful for a bit after they leave, but you truck on doing your job. If you begged them to not leave, you'd be being a massive weirdo. Hololive and vtubing in general really cultivates a weird and parasocial relationship between the fans and the talents, and a big part of that is that the fans forget that at the end of the day, these are people doing a job, and the other vtubers are their coworkers. Like, I remember a whole year after Sana's graduation people asking Council whether they were going to do anything for Sana's birthday with this expectation that it should be this big emotional thing for them, and it's like... no, this is a coworker that left a year and a half ago, it would be very weird if everyone at Hololive was still torn up about it. As fun as the kayfabe is, you've got to be able to see past the lore here sometimes.

I love that she specifically called out that the she's happy with the company, she would leave if she wasn't and that we should go follow Chloe and Fauna in there future endeavours! It goes to show the freedom that Hololive members have when discussing these sorts of things compared to a lot of other vtuber agencies and it's one of the things that I respect about them. At the end of the day, Hololive is a business and that's not always in the best interest of us or even their employees, but as it stands and from what we know, they seem to be pretty above board and that makes me happy!

I've been in this hole a while now, and I find that certain fanbases become just as much pillars to me as the holomems are. For example, I respect Fubuki's opinion highly whenever we have to navigate these tough times. That goes double for her Sukonbu, who always sustain some really insightful dialogue whenever she takes to stream to talk about such times. Just listening makes me stronger against the sort of confusion and grief and anger going around. I've watched the same unfold here. Calli has done a fine job of cultivating a community, a team, of Dead Beats who are just as resilient and wise as she is.

Definitely been interesting watching Calli grow over the years. I definitely reacted a bit strongly to the recent news (partially because Fauna dropping happened right after multiple other members going through turbulence) but I'm gonna listen to her on this one. I definitely remember Calli being more angsty and independent in her early time, and I trust her to look out for her interests. Definitely someone who seemed like they had past disagreement but have really grown into it by now. Sometimes, ya just gotta trust them, cheer em on, and let others take their own paths. Ame also has an independent account, so what happens for those events where cover wants her and Chloe to participate? Those are things yet to be demonstrated, even if they've already been determined. Affiliate is a way that Cover can continue to use the established character/ip rather than putting all the related files onto a hard drive that isn't used anymore and forgetting about it. The affiliate status means they can continue making merchandise, probably not as often, and that they can still dust off the old rig so that the character can come back to life for whatever occasion they need it. That's how I'm understanding it anyways. The company realized that completely losing the characters means losing any future income that could be made off them and the affiliate graduation was a result.

In the end when you grow to so many talents you gonna have to make choices at some point that dont agree with everyone. And while in a perfect world you can alwasy comprimise in reality thats rarely the case. In reality those choices can be the diffrence of havign some of the girls realizing there dreams even if it means having to let some others go. There is no world where 1 shoe fits all aferall. They communicate and network between generations really actively, almost like two EN Fubukis, so if something were to happen, I expect them to sound off on it. Plus Kronii and Shiori, Kronii because she’s Kronii and Shiori because of her PL basically being forced around to do stuff, and if she sees that happening she probably won’t let it fly. So we have 4 different canaries, plus Fubuki for JP, and if any of them have a problem? That’s when we start getting /vt/ to investigate and spread rrats.
