Calling for Accountability: Stopping Antisemitic College Chaos

The Committee on Education and the Workforce, chaired by Virginia Foxx (R-NC), will hold a hearing to call on the leadership at Northwestern University, University of California Los Angeles, and Rutgers University to answer for the rampant antisemitism engulfing their campuses and threatening their Jewish students.

Schill avoided the questions and is clearly unfit to tackle antisemitism on his campus. My question is what authority does the Committee have to right the problem of Jew hate in universities that receive federal funding? Better funding of OCR is certainly a good start, but the backlog there long predates October 7, 2023. Jewish students at these campuses need remedy before September 2024. They need it now, in fact.

Rep Takano’s comments are an outrage - congratulating them for negotiating with those breaking the law is great because it didn’t REDUCE the rights of Jewish or Israeli students. Why is Ms Bonamici apparently obsessed with the idea of employing "professionals" rather than Congress Committee. Do you need "professionals" to recognize the basics of human decency!
