Totally agree John! Simple does NOT mean easy! If you want a meal plan for weight loss research one. The whole process will help you learn about and understand food better which is the whole point. BUT dont go overboard. Try one meal at a time. If you like it, then repeat it and riff off of that one. For instance, my husband and I have something we call "ground beef suprise" where we take (obviously) ground beef and add veg (mushrooms, bell peppers, etc), soy and oyster sauce, fresh chilis, etc. It comes out a bit different each time. BUT I know that it will have enough protein (and some fat) in it that I need and I can measure it out approximately as needed on the kitchen scale. So I grab that along with some raw veg (for the crunch factor) as my go-to, got-no-time, no-motivation-to-cook-a-whole-meal solution.

I've personally done the fluctuation from weight gain to weight loss all my life! What I've learned is you can not think about losing weight and then say after I'm 120lbs I'm going to stop exercising and eat whatever I want with moderation. Of course 😬 I fail everytime I think this way. Now I have a completely different mindset. This food makes me feel crappy. I should stay away from that because it's not good for me. I learned to enjoy healthier options because I make it taste good and I know it does wonders for me! My tips for being 155lbs to now 134lbs today. Be patient and disciplined in wanting to be healthier. Don't allow food to control you.

I pulled my back at work about 2 months ago. Saw a doctor and he put me on a strict lifting limit. Which caused my job to change because my job requires us to be able to lift at least 30 lbs consistently, but be able to lift up to 50 lbs. I did some physical therapy with this injury and it did help. That was going well, my back pain was significantly reduced and I wasn't in pain all the time anymore, so I was released from care. 3 weeks later, I had a flare up of the pain and could not continue doing my job that day, reported it, and nothing came from that except the recommendation of self-care so applying ice 4 times a day and take pain meds. About a week goes by, I had some pain, but never got to that same level until 6 days later which was 2 days ago. So now i'm working with a doctor again and am back on a strict lifting limit and we're waiting on my job to approve the tests that need to be done to figure out what's going on. I am overweight, but my job is active and there's other medical things that go into why I'm not losing a bunch of weight with this job. But the depression from an injury is very real and honestly feels so much harder to deal with than a regular depressive episode - or at least it is for me. I am that person who wants to do everything I can on my own and only ask for help as need - not the greatest mindset to have, I know. But with a back injury like this, I'm having to rely on other people so much and that's hard for me. I've also gone from being active with my job to maybe down to less than a quarter of the amount of activity. My supervisor even suggested that maybe my alternative duty should be completely sitting all day. I said no to that, I'm so used to walking and being on my feet, that I want to be moving around. Plus, I would feel like I was doing more.

that’s not necessarily contradictory. i DESPISE cardio and struggle running a mile because endurance sucks. but i enjoy weight lifting and go to the gym almost every day and am getting stronger. even at my most muscular and least muscular i’ve never been able to run more than a mile straight lol
@doris20793 жыл бұрын
@@rileybaker9224 I think it is contradictory in her case since she wasn't lifting heavy weight (due to injury). Eating a lot of protein (by itself) would not make you strong. About the All In thing, I actually went All In without knowing before the whole Stephanie B. thing. I tried to reverse diet, but I was experiencing so much extreme hunger and then I got injured and my body was like ENOUGH and wanted all the food. I was undereating and overexercising for so long and going ''all in'' really helped with restoring other markers of health - like getting my period back, sleeping better, getting more energy, etc. It really doesn't solve everything, especially if there were other underlying issues intertwined (like chronic fatigue and mental health issues - which was my case), but I definitely had to go through that restorative process of not restricting to regain some of my physical heath and even mental health in regards to body image issues. Just thought I'd provide some positive insight on this although it's probably not the way for everyone for sure!

I'm doing the maths. She said towards the end she ate around 1400 calories a day and she did around 30 minutes of jumping rope (~600 calories) and 5 miles walk/run in total a day (~500 calories). I am going to be generous, even though she looks quite small (it's hard to tell on the video). So let's say she'd be maintenance at 2000 calories per day plus calories burnt. That's a deficit of 1700 per day - which would equal a weight loss of ~ 3.5 pounds per week (I am being generous to her in my estimates and with my rounding), which would be 14 pounds in the month. So she would have had to eaten a lot less and/or exercised a lot more to achieve the over 10 pounds additional weight loss.

I've been doing intermittent fasting for 25 weeks, OMAD for the last month or so. I chose this method because for me it's more sustainable to control when I eat instead of counting calories and eating three or more meals a day. It's not for everyone, though. I've lost about 10 kg without cutting out anything from my diet, just reducing the amount of meals a day.

(I’m also aware that this was probably the leading contributor, but I was losing weight quicker on it and thus asked for a higher dose) - I got on it because I noticed how much is suppressed my appetite. i mean, i had ZERO appetite. - I was under eating and OVER working out. It was probably ALL of the combined reason why I had seizures. But for real, I cringed at lose weight fast.

You're so right; carbs are absolutely not the Devil when it comes to weight, they just slow you down a bit. I personally am very strict about my carb intake, but that's because I as an individual really enjoy the greater freedom that that allows me with my portion sizes, day to day. Weight management is such a personal thing, unquestioningly copying someone else is just a recipe for failure. I limit carbs to a fairly extreme degree, & I usually go around 8 - 10 hours between meals, and frequently do stints of 1 day on, 1 day off intermittent fasting. However, as a person with a severely limiting spinal injury, which is extremely sensitive to rapid movements + impact, my ability to exercise is very restricted, & I basically can't perform any cardio at all. That same injury also necessitates that I live a pretty sedentary life, frequently use a wheelchair, & sometimes have days in a row where I'm bedbound. So, obviously, when it comes to maintaining my body, I have to focus largely on the dietary side, rather than taking a more holistic approach. I also simply _do not have the same nutritional needs_ as a person who has a job & is hitting the gym on the regular. I can get by on much less food, because my day to day life requires a great deal less energy. The only remotely regular complicating factors are that high-pain episodes seem to send my metabolism into overdrive. When that happens, I listen to my body, & for the next day or so, I eat more of everything. Bodies are unique, diets should be, too.

I definitely get the idea of high protein diets. My breakfast now is usually Greek yogurt smoothie or Greek yogurt and some granola along with a protein bar either way. So I start my day with 40g of easy and quick protein because I HATE eating breakfast but have to for my meds now. I was worried I would be starving eating breakfast because that's how it was when I was a kid. By lunch I was miserable. The heavy protein definitely helps... Along with the fact that the meds kill my appetite. So at minimum I maintain weight but I'm usually losing it because I just can't binge anymore.
