Thank the Almighty there exist a record of these people and their faith. Paintings are art and expression of faith and provide an insight into a people and a place. These frescos are not idolatry. They are not worshiped. On the contrary, we are able to understand how they worshiped and saw the world and the messiah xp.

@phaulsgawds99452 жыл бұрын
**********May god cleanse us of our vanity so that we may realise our sins, may he lift the veil to show us our bones and may we beg forgiveness to earn pilgrimage to the heavens. First, you would have to demonstrate that he exists… and is not just a mythological being…like the other 10,000+ gods mankind has created and worshipped in our species’ history. You will also need to prove that heaven exists, and that there is anything of US that goes there after brain death. I would also like to ask…. WHAT part of us goes to heaven? It is certainly not the physical part of us… as our body stays here… it is certainly not our mind, since that is a product of our brains…and that stays with the rest of the body… it can’t be our emotions, since it is said that there is only bliss in heaven, but my dearly departed mother adored me, her atheist child… and to know that I am burning in hell would not allow her to have bliss… so, what goes to heaven, since the image of what we are told is there is NOT us at all….

I'm just learning about chants now - the Roman chants were a different set of chants, distinguished from the Gregorian Canon of Frankish-Roman chants. This has a very different sound from other versions with the same title. Is your version the older Roman version as distinct from the Frankish-Roman that ended up in the Gregorian canon?

Rome has always been orthodox and the vanguard of Holy Orthodoxy, despite the arch-schismatic Patriarch Photios declaring the Filioque theologoumenon heretical for political leverage. Unfortunately the Photian schism of the 9th century created a theological divide exacerbated by the geopolitics of subsequent centuries. Photios gained the political upper hand in his lifetime, but in doing so rent the body of Christ for over a millenium, a very grave sin. Thankfully the anathemas of 1054 have been lifted, and the ecumenical work of healing this divide is under way.

That should really be said only by, and answered to, a priest, who by nature of his ordination is an Alter Christus; that's what we acknowledge in the exchange. The lay version that is used for situations without a priest celebrant is "V. Domine, exaudi orationem meam. R. Et clamor meus ad te veniat.". Or, use a traditional salutaion, like "V. Nonsense, all this Crusade larpering is disgusting to God. The only way all those who call themselves "Christian" can be together is that they recognize the Catholic Church as the Church Our Lord founded and no person at all outside of the Church can be saved and to be saved one needs to accept Christ as Our Lord and Savior, to recieve the Baptism of Water (the only Baptism there is unlike some heretics may think) and that the whole Catholic doctrine must be believed and uphold. Less internet childishness, more seriousness about the issue.
