Thanks for sharing this collab! I loved hearing your discussion and I found it interesting that labels have helped you to allow yourself to express your gender fluidity. I love Kovu's curiosity of gender expression. Through my detransition, I don't necessarily identify as a woman again, but I instead disregard gender completely. I was born female, that's my sex, and then I'm simply a human that has a mixture of masculine and feminine traits internally that I express outwardly however I want.. I never had surgery, so I had to overcome dysphoria in other ways first before getting to this point which was very painful but I'm glad I have reached this point. I wish I could do makeup as good as you! I can't do it to save my life 😂 (I go to the uni of leicester too)

Couldn't have described it gender I feel the same way in my identity ✨ oh really?? Maybe I'll bump into you around campus what degree do you do?

@@MxMorphling I think that the labels 'man' and 'woman' simply reflect the social aspect of how you are perceived based on stereotypes of male=man and female=woman and that's it.. I think we can feel 'masculine' and feel 'feminine' but we can't really feel like a 'man' or 'woman'. (Oh no I hope I don't get cancelled) because that would mean that men are masculine and women are feminine which is not always true because reality is not black and white.. (if that makes sense?) I just personally don't like gender labels for myself because of what I've been through and identifying as a trans guy wasn't helpful in the long run.. It helped for a short time but I was still distressed with my sex.. I do psychology with cognitive neuroscience so my 2nd year has finished now but I'm doing a hybrid internship over summer so I'll still be around sometimes :D if you wanna meet let me know I'd love to talk with you about my experience and I'm curious about yours :) my insta: ashfearnley

How did you work on your dysphoria?
@ashharryfearnley89552 жыл бұрын
@@east_coastt therapy and willingness to battle it head on. Accepting my sex and seperating that from whatever your definition of gender is and all gender related stereotypes. Acceptance of non-conformity and not caring what other people think about your gender expression. It's the hardest thing I've ever done. Value your other qualities. What do you like about yourself? In therapy I found another cause of why I feel socially distressed and worked on those issues. Also thinking less about gender helped, viewing less trans content online gave my head space to have its own thoughts. I focused on my degree and things that I enjoy, stripping the gender lens.

the drawings in the background are very interesting. its the classic "naked female body without a head and/or arms". this is something ive been thinking about a lot lately.

I've been looking forward to this video! Kovu looks so badass in the first makeover and the second one is just 😍 I personally thought that it was even better without the wig color-wise, but either way it was so soft and natural! This inspires me so much to try out different ways of expression as well!

Yeah that's the fun of it, we eventually found a look that he really felt comfortable in and so we just spent the day trying things out and experimenting with makeup. Yess give it a go yourself I'm sure you'd look fab!✨

seems like it is only about gender expression and not about gender identity? is there a difference to cis men who like to do drag?
@MxMorphling2 жыл бұрын
I've explained it in previous videos about how my identity and expression are linked but yes it is different to men who like to do drag long story short
