EVERY TIME I WATCH ANY GOOD FOOT DR., I ALWAYS THINK OF THE ONE EPISODE OF "MARTIN" WHEN HE'S DOING A LADY'S FOOT. WITH PRUNNING SHEARS, JACKHAMMER, BIG SANDER, AND GOGGLES! BUT DOC, I ENJOY WATCHING YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE A GOOD HEART! THANK you!❤

@@Jenura01 I'm also a foot doctor. Sometimes you can feel it when you press their foot, about how thick it is. Sometimes it's really discolored and you can note the delineation. Sometimes you cut people by accident and you apologize and fix it up. That dremel sanding tool he used near the end is good because you can then debride superficially and smooth it with the dremel

Just that little bit Dr. J has done already makes his foot look brand new. I use doctor-prescribed Urea Cream 40% on my left foot since it’s been jacked up for a long time now. It happened while I was in the military and hasn’t been the same since.

After watching quite a few of these from you. I’ve come to the conclusion you have quite the steady and talented hand. Watching you debris these folks with a scalpel and steady hand only. I’m very impressed with the touch, accuracy, and speed you have. I do the same thing on my feet at home. Only I cut the shit out of my foot occasionally with the open scalpel. Much respect sir you make an extremely difficult task look fairly easy and benign. It couldn’t be further from that.

My career was in dental hygiene, so I remember first-hand the frustration of going over home care with some patients, having them say yes, I'll do that, no, I won't do that anymore, etc, and then a few months later, we were back at square one. So I hear you doing your best to educate your patients and teach them proper foot care, but boy, it must get to you sometimes when you have people who don't know to wear socks, wear the right size shoes, stick some moisturizing cream on their feet every day. Kudos to you, Doc, keep trying! I know you will.

Dr Jefferson, question! I'm a paraplegic going on 30 yes...I think I introduced myself before. Anyways I have to watch and take care of my feet from no feeling. When I buy shoes I buy wide and are least one siZe to big so I don't get any types of sores. It has worked well for me and have never had any feet issues. Does that sound like a good rule of thumb for me to follow since it has worked so well? Also when lotion feet should I not do in between toes? That can lead to cracks right? Thought I saw a video that said no lotion in between toes is why I ask. Is lotion or creme better or are they the same thing? Also I've never had an ingrown toenail!!!! Ya I work hard to take care of my feet. Good video and thanks 👣

We need to take care of our bodies in order to avoid this. Drink enough water. Keep yourself dehydrated. Shower every day. Soak your feets with warm salt water at least once a week, then use a sandpaper to take the dead skin off of your feet. Remember, avoiding damages is better than treating them.

I'm shocked by how many people on here are often wearing the wrong size shoes and mess up their feet like that. If I try on shoes and they're not comfortable I always ask for the next size up. I will not be limping around with calluses just to say I have size ten feet. My skin is too soft. I normally wear a size 10 for open toe shoes but when it comes to enclosed shoes I usually ask for 10 1/2 or 11. I have long toes and most enclosed shoes are cut in such a way that my toes get squeezed so I size up.

Keep the nails cut properly, keep them clean, with diabetes id say check them regularly for any cuts or bruises that you may not feel which can very quickly turn into an infection and cause you to lose limbs. Keep them moisturized and have them checked by a professional like Dr J when you go for your regular check up.

Beverly Gainey I’m a nurse. For your feet - Wear properly fitting shoes. Don’t go barefoot, except in your bathroom and shower. Inspect your feet daily. Lotion your feet. Be careful clipping your toenails. Lotion..lotion...lotion. Use Cetaphil lotion, that’s the best in my opinion....it doesn’t have perfumes.

I am a diabetic. I use Neutrogena sesame oil on my feet and legs. I also use lotion. I never put anything between my toes to reduce the risk of fungal infection. I also use big clippers from Three Swords, made in Soligen, Germany. These are much better than inferior instruments made in China. The German instruments are made with high grade steel with more carbon. My small kit was $10 from Amazon.
