Over a century ago people used birch bark like we use post cards. They were sent through the mail according to one source I read. I tried it once, but it must have been chewed up by a sorting machine, or lost, or crumbled. It never arrived at its destination. People did what they had to do with the tools at hand. A much more peaceful time.

Always a joy to see the sun shining through the woods. 💚 The creeks looking like dark roasted coffee, I can almost smell the leaves and the pine needles & the crisp air. When you dropped the steak, I was like, nooooo 🫣 lol but since inflation is up, I've decided that dropped food now has an 8 second rule. 🤣 Stay blessed Brooke, hope Maysie is doing well.

Oooo that looks so fun!!! I know what you mean about sitting still sometimes. I was in Montana as a child, and sometimes nature just takes your breath away. Once, I walked up the valley behind the house, looked up at the pines in the snowy sky, and actually heard them whispering! It was so wonderful, there was nothing to do but just stop and listen to what sounded like God's voice, filled with awe!

Just an aside…. I live in a small town. Power went out early 2/2/23. My neighbors are in their 80’s and their house is all electric. My loan of my buddy heater made their day! I have learned so much about acknowledging the blessings I have from camp Whipple! Bless Brook and Dave!!!!

I like all of them. The rectangular one, the "gypsy" one on wheels, and the A-Frame. The rectangular one is more livable, but this one that is by a stream. Campfires by a babbling brook. Doesn't get any better.
