I've always been slim. When I became prediabetic in November, 5.8 A1C. I weighed 126. I am now down to 116. I started eating less carbs, no pizza, pasta, bread, sweets. No processed foods. From listening to you, I'm obviously not eating enough. I have a very poor self image when this small & all the comments I get about my small size don't help any. What can I eat to gain weight that 's not crap for my body

I've lost 25 pounds since the start of February, using Cronometer to track my food with the goal of 1,000 calorie deficit per day. I've only missed that goal once so far. Every day I eat 0.8 grams of protein per pound of weight at my calculated goal weight when I'll have 18% body fat. I use Cronometer's tracking to make sure I get enough fiber every day (and all micronutrients too), reduced sodium to healthy levels, cut out processed foods (I miss lunch meat the most), and I do a lot of walking outdoors on uneven ground. My blood pressure is down from 140+/80 to 124/75. But I also use exercise to "buy" a higher calorie budget for the day. I just make sure to undercalculate how many calories exercise is burning by half. Still, with higher protein and fiber, I haven't felt hungry more than a couple of times during the past two months or so, and I feel better than I have for years. I'm not sponsored by Cronometer or anything, btw. You can use it for free; I haven't paid for the premium features.

Thank you for this - helps clear up a lot of the misinformation out there. The part about slowing metabolism was particularly helpful.

Thank you, but you're right...that's not really my speciality. 😂 I moisturize, use sunscreen, and try to keep the hormonal acne under control. 😆

@@IvanaChapman I stumbled across your channel a while back. I was really impressed with the detailed information. I was slim most my life, but put on a lot of weight at 40. This channel helped me get on track with factual information that is helping me.

Yesterday, I went to my little nephew's Birthday Party at 2. I tried not eating until then. I had some cookies and cakes. Today, I didn't weigh myself and am hardly eating calories. I ate some cooked vegies and a tiny piece of a bagette. Let's see, I had some water and a coffee with Splenda. I'm hoping my weight is not increased from yesterday. What else can I do?

Great information, thank you! However, I am a bit confused now. I have been eating 1000 calories for years now, and will only lose if I go even lower than that and also eat no carbs or sugar aside from fruits and veggies, with cardio. So I'm wondering if my body is just used to it. I've recently started with weights now, and with the cardio. Any suggestions on what diet is best so I can eat more? I'm so hungry all the time. I'm a woman 5'4 154lbs. I've been considering keto just so I can eat more than 600 calories to lose. I'm just trying to get to a little healthier weight, tone up, and build muscle. Any help on how to get out of this awful low calorie jail would be so greatly appreciated! haha. I ask doctors, but they are no help. Thanks!

I have a question. I did OMAD for 4 years, lost 70lbs in total. first year OMAD was good. over time I had to skip an entire day and eat nothing to make weightoss happen then I had to have a no eating day 2 x a week cos my weightloss eventually stopped. eventually I was eating 4 meals a week just to get a weight loss by my 4th year. I couldn't carry it on cos what next? 3 meals a week? My meals were strictly one a time. ranged between 500 - 1000 kcal I gave up OMAD, regained 10lbs and now at maintainance. I dont over induldge and actually have a better relationship with food and feel full very quickly. I can no longer eat huge amounts of food. but now I struggle to lose weight again what now?
