Jesus knew that His followers would be surrounded by people who have a different value system and He asked His Father to "keep [us] from the evil one" (John 17:15). But He never intended that we remove ourselves from the world. In this teaching, Pastor Skip reminds us that we are not called to be isolated from the world, but we have been set free and called to live pure lives as an example in and to the world.

We completely agree. My ancestors all died not only in the 1918 pandemic but fighting for the freedoms we now hold in this country. God is my authority and unequivocally, absolutely no one else.

This was really helpful. 42:00 what you are describing of a shunned person just going to another church who is either tolerant of, or ignorant of the sin... is exactly why 1 Corinthians 5 is not merely a calling to official church position, but each and every one of us as followers of Christ are called to make this judgment with anyone named a brother / Christian, who is given to such practice. Furthermore, when Paul talks of Hymenaeus and Alexander. That's speaking of his personal relationship with them, knowing certain things about them (whom I, not whom we in any kind of official church capacity) in 1 Timothy 1:18-20 that you mentioned, which was really helpful.

Prayers for me to be able to get out of Tucson AZ to a happier place. Do you think I can live at the Lake Apartments on my Social Security income. It's a little more b/c I went to NMIMT and got better jobs. I'm 76 now. I know that the Word of God says the blood of Jesus Redeemed, Justified, Sanctified, Cleansed me, and I have the very life of God in me when I eat his flesh and drink his blood in the bread and wine; Jesus is always interceding for me even when I cannot pray and the sprinkling of his blood on the mercy seat in the holy of holies, and I have access into the holiest place in the universe. Therefore I don't gotta worry.

I think it is deeply criticizable that a person is thrown out of your church .. and you subsequently contact other churches to tell why you threw the person out of the church. This is persecution ..you can expel .. And there the case should stop...
