RC Boat UDI 005 Arrow Review and 1st Run plus Vector comparison

I took delivery of the awesome UDI 005 Arrow. If looks were speed it was be supersonic. Very similar boat the the Vector SR65 in size and spec and yet the Vector totally outperforms it. I need to investigate, see if it is the motor, prop shaft, or battery not very good. But it lapped in 11.5 secs compared to 7.5 for my Vector. Both are 3S and brushed. 2200mAh batteries or thereabouts. I'm not sure what the motor rating is.
Water cooled ESC and motor. Battery is held in by a substantial strap. Two canopies stop water getting in and it did better than the Vector there. It has a bigger plastic prop than the Vector too. But no prop mount holding the prop shaft at the rear.

Sr65 is more traditional rc boat , and it have very big space,make more easy to work and upgrade

I would like to get extra battery, what is the C rating recommend and what capacity will run the boat good?

The higher the C rating the better but I just use 35C here. That seems ok for this boat.

Great vid so far I reckon the Vector wins with that prop mount and only possibly stronger motor... I'm 7.40 in and read above ok will watch rest with interest nice car collection too. I see you the model connoisseur but no sailing boat yet? Watching on now..

your esc is in a different place to . yours is off to the side mine is up front. i think you got the cheaper nock off if you cant put a 4s on it

I don't think they make a "cheaper knock off" The Company makes Only one version of that boat (when it comes to internal parts, because they do make that boat in RED and White. I actually just purchased it. They can run 4s batteries just keep it at 40c-60c And from what I've seen you won't fry the ESC, And speed will increase to over 40mph

@@carlgantz2397 the red boat has a shaft collar to stop the shaft from binding up and the red boat has a longer antenna for more range but the red boat receiver dose not beep when battery is dead and slow speed in pluses it just beeps and lets you drive it home full power. The white boat when it dies with beep and stop driving to save power and go slow. stop go stop go to save battery power .

I think this pond is not quite ideal for speedboats as there is a fountain in it. The water surface is never completely calm.

The fountain does stop the build up of plant weed in the water, so it helps that way. The sides are more of a problem as I've seen a few dented speed boats. Really needs to be rubber all round lol.

THE SR65 GOT 2600KV AND THE ARROW GOT 2200KV, so the sr65 will rev higher than the arrow. that will make a different in speed. if same prop used. just for info Laurie.

And the Arrow is nearly half the price...😉😁 I run mine on 4S all the time on stock electronics. The fastest speed I got was with a tiny 4S 1300mah with 100C. The Arrow 5 is a proven boat and easily upgraded. The Arrow is the budget option at less than $150.The Vector is around $269.

@@roderickrayrutledge2740 I run my Vector on a 4S and it was transformed, so I can believe it. Does the ESC hold out ok though? How many times have you run it? My Vector SR65 manage 5 times and then stopped, as it did for my mates too with the Vector. Perhaps this boat has a netter ESC?

I think the Vector is meant to but I think the box speeds are generally a bit exaggerated on all models like this. The Vector is faster. I reckon is does about 28mph which is about 45kph.

I have a arrow and it gets 25mph gps out of the box. With trim tabs up it might touch 27.

It is. I think it is a 'wetter' boat meaning it sits lower in the water and is therefore more stable. It is less likely to flip. Has more drag too therefore, especially on turns.

I did try the Vector of 4S but the speed controller stopped after five times. I then used a 40A Shark ESC instead but that just cuts out. I do have videos of it on 4S and it does really motor on those. But now for reliability and longevity I run on 3S. Several others have Vectors in our club and all of the ESCs gave out after a while too. Hope you have more luck.

@@Calvertfilm weird mine dose not cut out mmm. i have a red boat new version. and a white boat old verrsion. the white boat dose not have a metal sleav to protect the shaft from binding

@@youtubeblows326 Well thanks for the compliment but that's what the SkyRC speedometer said 22mph. It samples at 10 times a second and seems pretty good to me. But I'll happily say it does 40 mph :-) It's a good boat though and drives on the water nice. Cheers.
