Great deconstruction, however I think the "Brass section" he refers to and uses an FM8 to simulate, is actually a Rhodes or Wurli piano with distortion and phasing, Calvin has a Rhodes 73 in his studio so possibly that through a couple of pedals maybe.

The brass sound is nothing like an electric piano. Like most of the other instruments on the original song it's constructed from layers (that could consist of synths or samples from acoustic instruments) but it's clearly got a brassy sound, with the characteristic slow attack and swell associated with instruments that you blow into (like a trumpet or trombone). It doesn't have the sharp transients of something being hit and then decaying (like piano keys). Before all the pitch-modulation effects were added, I suspect it was a horn section stab on an old sample CD of funky house bits. Sampled horns are a big part of that tropical house vibe.

The tutor had the sounds correct apart from the FM8 type of sound. The vocals where nowhere as good as Dua Lipa's but respect the fact they recorded it just for the purpose of this deconstruction. Keep up the good work guys!

Despite what all the people think of Valerie's vocals, she is hot asf, she was, or still is a backing singer for Jamiroquai, amazing vocalist, the track needed the work of Valerie, obviously people love the work and voice of Dua Lipa and yeah she has a distinctive, unique tone to her voice, but for someone that's been on tour longer than Dua Lipa, I think Valerie deserves the utmost respect, come on guys.
