@TheThomas010519 If someone believed in the truth of Orthodoxy; then why would they want someone else to just settle for, supposedly, 'just getting to heaven' and not bothering to enter into the Church in it's fullness? If they truly cared about that person; don't you think they would, if nothing else, hope that person can have as close of a relationship with God as possible, to worship God in a way that is actually pleasing to Him, and to experience the mysteries of the Church in it's fullness? The Protestant notion of just "agreeing to disagree" with those of other denominations because "well, they're already saved" surely isn't pleasing to a God who is the author of Truth; Satan is the author of lies. To allow someone to live in heresy and lies when you, in your conscience, can see that it is a lie is not loving that person.

When I became an inquirer last summer, I was (rightfully) encouraged to stay away from internet Orthodoxy. Jay was mentioned as one of the figures that I should be very careful about. For that reason, I never really got into his content. I’ve been a catechumen for a few months now. I still mostly stay away from participation in internet Orthodoxy- these 2 videos are actually the first of Jay’s that I’ve watched. I really respect how this ‘debate’ went on his end. He was firm, but not a douche. Unbelievably insightful too. I’ve been studying and kind of internally felt like I knew the basic understanding of Orthodox Trinitarian theology, but never heard it explained so concisely as he did here. Amazing job. I learned a ton, and I was able to establish my own opinion of Jay from it
@36gamers6 ай бұрын
The only issue I have with Jay is that I don't often think it's very fruitful to get into conspiracy theory type content. Not that any of his views or even wrong or anything I just have never found it fruitful in my life or others' lives to get swept up into these things. One thing I appreciate about Orthodoxy is how separated from the world it is. It is truly in the world but not of it. No human is perfect and all have value. I think Jay has a lot of value when speaking strictly on Orthodoxy. What I would beware of is that I personally think he does struggle with being worldly in some of his focuses.

I think redeemed zoomer is going through a reconsideration of his worldview right. He even admitted on twitter that he’s been doubting Protestantism. But because he’s gotten so far from Calvinism, and because he built a massive channel centering around Protestantism, he doesn’t want to convert, even though he probably believes Orthodoxy was true after all. I guess in his mind converting to orthodox would mean the end of his channel (which isn’t necessarily true). And by the way he’s been acting (especially after his talk with Dyer) I think he’s started to realize the false Calvinist worldview and the truth of Orthodoxy, but doesn’t want it to be true. It’s like if a Muslim built a chalk with 400k subscribers, but realized Christianity is truth. He probably wouldn’t want to lose his channel.

Quite literally the best thing you can do is to pray for him, and to mean it.

They say Jesus suffered for us and God put his wrath on Jesus instead of us, but they dont understand that wrath doesnt equal to unforgiving. Thank you, Kyle. The system of Calvinism keeps a high view of Scripture and grounds its theology based solely on God’s word. Sola Scriptura. The emphasis is on God’s sovereignty - which means that God is able and willing - given His omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence to accomplish, whatever He desires with His creation. In other words, God is the Creator, mankind is His creation. That's it. God bless you.

Many of these people love Christ and are appalled by the heresy of other denominations, but for some reason, they feel completely justified in believing their own denomination's niche ideas. The problem with these niche ideas is that theory isn't practice, and theologians aren't saints. You can't learn to make bread by studying biochemistry. Calvin taught that Jesus could not be given deity from the Father because He shared the one essence with the Father and Spirit; he did however hold that the Son obtained His ‘Person’ from the Father. In this way, Jesus was ‘autotheos’.

Which contradicts the true nature of Monarchia, since even the Reformers fell prey to Latin Trinitarianism rather than Greco-Eastern.

Of course Jesus came under condemnation during his time on the cross. How else would he pay for our sins if he did not take on the equivalence of our punishment. " Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:"(Galations3.13) Jesus is certainly included in "every one."
