Glad you got it running with just adjusting the gap. I had problems with that exact crank sensor when it was getting hot just like you. I agree...Never give up ! 💪💪

Also pressure test your boost pipes for above you desired boost to make sure the pipes don't blow apart on the dyno. And check for boost leaks, fluid leaks, and good rear tires. Take a fresh set of plugs just in case the tuner wants them. Good luck brotha

So, I know this is not REMOTELY your issue, but my 88' NA auto supra will not start up on long trips if it's REALLY hot after you stop. I 90% assume it's the CPS, and I will get it rebuilt by Piratetip on the forums someday. In your case I'm sure it's a much more advanced issue. Just interesting It's similar. Hope you make a Supras in Vegas vid this year :)

I had a problem with heat soak messing with my Fuel pump relay. I installed a fuel pressure gauge T'ed off the cold start injector under the hood and saw no fuel pressure when she would die. I did the 12v power mod to my fuel pump, walbo pump, re-wired the new relay and have never had that issue again

@@bbriankb1086 Interesting. I figured it had to do with fuel, but man that sounds complex. Was just hoping slapping a fixed CPS would fix it, but you might be right on that one. No idea where to start with that.

I have a 89 turbo supra that had gray interior and I have all the pieces, let me know if you need a new drivers side door card, the shipping will be pricey being I’m in northern Indiana. I just scored a white 91’ supra NA auto trans with deep red interior and she’s minty condition and my new project (rod knock) but only paid $3,500. Nice after all that work you were so close, too close actually. Reminds me when I first did my head gasket only thing I got wrong was wiring order, was following some BS post online meanwhile it's just 123456 lol & most cars are that way as well 1 is front 4 is back of engine.

@@remkye it’s not heat its movement of the crank sensor bracket due to engine natural movement, i get faulty readings and or readings jump or miss a tooth due to the movement

​@-LFATV have you tried the magnet mod from driftmotion? I understand the bracket is moving but maybe this might help you keep the signal. They also make an aftermarket CPS

Maybe when the engine warmed up the Crank & Cam sensors/bracket would experience thermal expansion and moved the sensors far enough away to stop picking up the teeth. Then you had to wait for those bracket to cool enough to pickup the teeth.

Yes this is definitely a factor i learned in other videos i posted, plus the brackets design due to normal engine movement also can cause missed trigger readings depending on engine movement
