After you check out more Home Free, there are several videos out there that show Tim's 5 octave vocal range that you may want to take a look at. Also, there are several Home Free songs where Chance takes the lead....."Some Girls Do", "Down To The Honky Tonk" and "Cover Me Up" to name a few. I LOVE your reactions and am excited to see more! Chance used to be the bass with his former group, “Street Corner Symphony”, before joining Home Free, so singing bass comes easy for him. He will hold the bass line when Tim sings the lead. So you can say he’s a baritone/bass for the group.

Not one mention of Tim's harmony with Rob --- in the tenor range. Since Chance came on board, it's opened a whole new aspect of what these guys can really do. Let's not forget Chances range (really shown in "Can't Stop the Feeling") ..... The harmonies and possibilities of harmonies, which they do exercise a good bit, has extended extensively!!! --- Harmonies and blends are amazing (with just 5 guys!) along with the combinations used is phenomenal - twisty! if you will .... LOL ------ and it is so so good.

I'm late to the party, I know. This was Home Free letting their Fries know that they have every confidence in Chance and to kind of put their fans on notice. They were kind of saying, "Now, just because you hear a bass line, or a massive bass drop, it doesn't mean it was Tim. Chance can do it too, so look for it going forward." Side note: Chance was the baritone/ bass for Street Corner Symphony, another A Capella group. But, he didn't have near the range, tone, or clarity he has now. His group was on the show The Sing Off as well, and the judges told him as much on several occasions. Tim worked with Chance to help expand his range, growls, throat notes, clarity, how long he could hold his notes (because he was used to the typical short bass line notes), and many other things. Adam worked with him on beatboxing, as well. Before his growth, Tim was my hands down favorite of the group. Now... it's Chance! He's become a beast in his own right.

That was an A1, which is a good limit for a bass singer... Tim is just a subwoofer, lol.

They all sound so great in this one, even if you've never heard them before, but then add in the additional hit that comes from them switching up the parts and you can see why we love this one so much. For Avi probably with vocal fry technique. Not something someone training as an opera or choral singer would use. The most famous place Pentatonix used it is the song Natural Disaster where Avi's voice is used as a sound effect in live performances interfering with the lights for dramatic effect without blowing the sound system (Avi did that once accidentally early on in their career and before they started with their own "bass proofed" sound systems that all the a cappella bands with bass singers use) 🙂

Interesting little background for Chance: he used to be the bass for an acapella group called Street Corner Symphony. They came second on The Sing Off season 2 (the year before Pentatonix, who won season 3) and everyone seems to kinda know everyone from all the various seasons of that show. If you wanted to react to some SCS, then go for their cover of Madness by Muse. Also, in Chance’s first HF video, Try Everything (the song from Zootopia) he wears merch from his old band, look closely at his T-shirt! You’ll also see Chance have a little cameo in the HF video for House Party. It’s still got Chris in it, but Chance cameos in the video. And there’s a 4 year old video where they announce Chris leaving the group and hands the reins over to Chance, it’s called “Important Announcement From Home Free”. And all six of them sing together in Chris’ channel for What Child Is This it’s an amazing version 😍 Another cool note: Peter Hollens was also in season 2 of the Sing Off in a group called On The Rocks.

QoFyReacts you’re welcome! 😊 As others have said, us Home Fries are very dedicated and passionate. And that now includes you, my friend. The two of us are Euro Fries, if your French you’re a French Fry, if you’re Aussie you’re a Crispy Fry, there’s probably others but I can’t remember them! I call myself a Pentafry - a Pentaholic and a Home Fry! Have you ever checked out Pentatonix? If you haven’t then start with their Daft Punk Medley. But also check out their Sing Off journey if you haven’t already yet. Edit: just watched your Countryfied Pop Medley reaction and you said you already know PTX. Ignore my comment above! Also, one of the songs you didn’t recognise from Countryfied Pop Medley was actually a song PTX have covered - Problem by Ariana Grande. I kinda want a full Home Free version of the song to see how HF make it different from PTX. And one of the others you didn’t recognise was actually Katy Perry’s debut single, I Kissed A Girl

Tim is very Versatile since he's a bass who can sing below bass in my opinion, Lol and he can sing in a Tenor's range which I find is rarer than a Tenor singing in a Basses range, Adam Rupp's Beatboxing is better than any Beatboxing I've ever seen, he give's beatboxing a whole new light, Adam Chance is also very versatile, since he can sing very low and also high, Rob has a soft Tenor voice that can be described as Light and Angelic, and Austin has one of the most expressive Tenor Voices I've ever heard, it's not just his high tenor voice, it's also his Vocal Tone, it's very open and clear, hence being expressive.

Okay, Qofy, that high note you were questioning was Austin - not Tim. Austin is High Tenor while Rob is Lead Tenor, although Austin used to lead most recording until recently. @@heatherdelgado9303 then we go with what the singer says he is. Geoff Castelluci says the same thing as Chance. Avi says he is a bass and Tim is not helpful to the debate because he calls himself "an a cappella slut" 🙂

"Mayday" means "HELP!" It's from the French "m'aidez," which literally means "help me," or "aid me!" Back in the old days when French was the language of trade and travel (the way English and Chinese are now), pretty much everyone knew at least one French phrase besides "where is the bathroom?" You got in trouble, any kind, anywhere, you screamed "M'AIDEZ!!!!!" HALP! SAVE MY BUTT. It's just an accident that in English it sounds like Mayday. But it does. So that's how we spell it.
