I know we are strangers and I technically don’t know you at all but I just wanted to say that it brings me so much comfort to watch your videos and see how similar our lives are (hobbies, cats, working while in graduate school, cooking/eating, views on self care). Feels like you’re a kindred spirit in a way. So bizarre to feel that way about someone I haven’t met but I am here for it! Sending you a lot of good energy and gratitude for sharing your life with us.

super warm and cosy vlog as always! i usually never write comments but just wanted to say how much i appreciate the way you combine reading & daily life things with talks about politics and social issues. this is soothing to see in a world that is so difficult to bear at times

In England we've had snow and storms. I'm in bed wrapped up in my duvet and watching you enjoy the opposite season down under is making me feel warm and uplifted (and also a little peculiar... the whole southern / northern hemisphere thing is wild. Don't even get me started on hot Christmas) ❤☀️

Those cinnamon rolls look gorgeous. Your videos always inspire me to live slower and read more, these past few weeks I've been struggling with getting tangled into work and screens and non-stop plans when all I need is to slow down and enjoy an analogic and quiet life

Yes! I hope you love Intermezzo. It’s definitely so much more complex and she’s outdone herself literarily. I hadn’t heard of forbidden notebook, but I put it on my list immediately. Fun fact my dad was friends with Lorrie Moore and while I’m technically named after my aunt in spelling I’m also named after her 😂

If you haven't read anything by Virginia Woolf yet (and even if you have) I'd highly highly recommend starting with her short essay "Street Haunting." Its such a lovely read and a great introduction to her style of storytelling.

I felt the same way as you in regards Sally Rooney’s books! She writes so well but that last one didn’t seem to add anything valuable, so excited for your briefing on Intermezzo to decide on purchasing it 🙂

I love Adriene Marie Brown! Her books and podcasts have gotten me through some shit 😅 Have you listened to her podcast How to Survive the End of the World? If you like her interviews I think you’ll really enjoy it. She and her sister (co-host) are POWERFUL and have such a playful dynamic. Sending you a big hug!

Will be interesting to see how you manage public speaking in a counseling job? Here we have to present cases at meetings , go to court at times, client advocacy etc so it comes up…
