Go back for that 4th gen rear, it fits basically with stock hardware you already have and you'll be able to clear 4th gen or vette wheels without spacers in the back. I have a 4th gen posi disc rear on my 86 z28 with 410s so you'll be good! Just gotta hook up new brake lines with the old 3rd gen coupler that comes off the main brake line but the springs, bars, rear, everything matches up great!

@Cayden Wells yup exactly. Even the control arms, panhard bar, panhard rod, shocks, everything lines up. Just will be about 1 to 2 inches wider on each side so you can fit even wider tires or vette wheels without needing spacers. Even with stock 3rd gen wheels it gives it a mean stance

Only thing i recommended swapping is the brake system. Just get two new brake lines on the back, and hook it into the little 1 to 2 line valve/fitting you have that attaches to the 3rd gen rear by the pumpkin. The 3rd and 4th gen frame and f body set up is very very similar and almost everything swaps over with ease. I have a 4th gen ls1, 4l60e trans, posi disc rear and plastic gas tank in my 3rd gen. All fits great with small modifications, the rear tho virtually needed nothing other than the brake lines to that single brake line that comes from the front, if you look down there youll know what im talking about, its like a rubber hose from the hard brake line that has two fittings to run fluid to the stock 3rd gen brake line setup. and maybe the e-brake cables but those they sell at napa for like 20 dollars if you wanna hook it back up

I’m confused why get the axels if the 4th gen rear end fit in perfect just a bit wider? I just ordered a 4th gen rear end and have z06 wheels for it going to be perfect

We wanted to keep the stock case I the car cuz we didn't want to take it out, also the 4th gen rear end was missing brakes and we where also curious if the buying axels way would work. It does lol
