Good video. Good driving on one of my favorite tracks. Just a little advice for turns 2 3 and 4. After hard breaking into 2, get back on the gas through the little straight curbstone to the left, Lyft turning in to 3 Hold three one-hundredths of a second longer.Back on the throttle drifting out to the right curb stones. The mini straight between two and three helps settle the car. Lift turn in give you more front grip. Slight throttle afterwards helps the car rotate around, by transferring some weight to the rear.

Put some stickers on that car! Every sticker adds 5hp according to my kid LOL Great video!

As a sticker salesman I can confirm that stickers are the best bang for your buck performance parts on the market. In addition to the 5 hp you also get massive torque gains in the mid range plus unparalleled levels of traction and badassery..😂😂😂

Never heard of heatsoak on this car, I'm surprised. You did well regardless!
@Mechanical_Eng_HPDEАй бұрын
I wouldn't call it heat soak, when the air is so hot, there is less O2 per unit of volume so engines make less power...

You need bmr rear control arms, sway bars front and back and h&r lowering kit if you dont have them already. You'll be able to handle like the ZL1 that passed you towards the end and of course with a bit more practice on your lines and braking points. With those upgrades it wont be necessary to cut thru the bumps. I have a 2020 1ss 1Le i smoke anything on the track majority of the time. If youre not braking hard, you're not going fast enough. Good driving but just like drifting you need to get better at keeping the car stable under hard cornering fight the wheel tug it fight the wheel tug it be smooth all in all micro counter steer under heavy cornering, gas pedal stable till you can push feel the car and be able to push it some more little by little each lap.

You're riding a gear too tall in most corners. Then you're way under the power curve on the way out.
@Mechanical_Eng_HPDE7 ай бұрын
Yeah, gearing is not great in this car. I tried dropping into 2nd in a few corners but lap times actually get worst

These types of US sports cars are damn good out of the box. That BMW was just being driven more aggressively, it didn't seem much faster in a straight line, you need less mechanical sympathy lol..

Got racing slicks on? Like to see you with either a Whipple or Procharger and lowered suspension Zl1-1LE wing, dive planes , splitter, won’t be no smoking by the BMW then!!! 1 LE for life manual!!!

Is the dirt on track in the corners normal? Seems a bit dangerous.
@Mechanical_Eng_HPDE8 ай бұрын
Not ideal, its just something that happens when people drop a wheel in the grass/dirt...

Nice job keeping up with porsche and even closing in on him on the corners, nice driving. That e30? BMW was no joke, was it engine swapped and turbocharged (plus being what 700-1k lbs lighter possibly?) And obviously the driver mod.
@Mechanical_Eng_HPDE Жыл бұрын
Not sure what was done to the BMW but it was running 4 secs a lap faster than me I was told, I 100% believe it.
@155stw Жыл бұрын
@@Mechanical_Eng_HPDEgreat driving! The E30 M3 sounds like it has a very modified S54 engine swap and slicks or 100 treadwear tires, and let’s say it has 380 bhp in a car which weighs 2500 lbs? There is no way your heavy Camaro can even come close to it even with your extra power.

Good stuff! That Bimmer was a gutted E36 maybe with an E46 M motor in it. What tires and how do they hold up lap after lap here? Sounded like they were giving out a bit.

How do you like the Giro rotors and the hawk pads? Feel they make a big difference?
@Mechanical_Eng_HPDE Жыл бұрын
The pads do make a difference, the stock pads are great but when pushed hard they fade. The rotors don't feel any different than the OEM, they are 1.5lbs lighter but honestly in a car this heavy with electric steering I didn't expect much, hopefully they last longer than OEM...
@franny5521 Жыл бұрын
@@Mechanical_Eng_HPDE great to hear. I agree, I noticed at Pocono the OEM Pads did perform well but the second I finished my last laps, pedal went right to the floor.

It is supposed to be driver education, not a race. Practice using more of the track while hitting those apexes at the correct spot, and you will go faster.
