CXA: The Inside Story

I demoed the CXA60 alongside my current amp and a Marantz PM6006. Both the Marantz and my current amp there was an audible hiss when no music was playing through the speakers. The CXA60 absolutely nothing. I had to have my ear literally on the speaker to hear anything. I can't wait for mine to arrive this week.

Alex Holgate cx a60 better then pm6006 in your eyers . Recently i used yamaha r n602 . Is it worthy to upgrade to cx a60?

Max Rider yeah it was night and day. I was always a little annoyed in the hifi shop as whatever I wanted to buy they tried to sell me a cxa-60! But when I actually demoed it it was the best amp I had heard. You can also pick them up refurbished for around £300 now

How many output devices per channel and how many yF the capacitor bank has for reserves? Asking for CXA 80. Seems like a very good investment for my needs. Thanks!

4 x 6800UF very good... and sounds great, of course out of box is a bit bright, but with more than 100 hours the sound is smooth and detailed

No analog "Rec Out" on either the CXA60 or 80. Please Cambridge, don't do this again. :(

My CXA 60 has FAILED several times. My advise is to buy NAD or Marantz - buy CA at your own peril!

Hello! Unfortunetly Cambridge is not that quality what was ~10 years ago.I go with the marantz, especially the pm7005.It is made in Japan, not china. I think NAD is better than cambridge but gets hot in short time and the sound is not as opened and clear in mid/treble as the marantz. I recommend marantz pm 7005 or 8005, or 8006 or alternative Yamaha as-801.
