Description: Driving down Camden's Broadway. Ten years ago, the area was one of the most dangerous in the nation. Today, it is improving but still rough around the edges. Crime has dropped by over half since its peak in 2012, but it remains elevated above the state average.
One of the keys in this improvement was the disbanding of the city police department. Following this move, the department was reconstituted within Camden County's jurisdiction. Since this event, most residents have noted improved community relations, better police visibility and a generally safer feel. All of this took place as many cities in other areas have seen skyrocketing crime rates.

@@blightedgrounds thats not it at all. the industrial parts of camden, such as the factories, all shut down and the neighborhoods fell with it. nobody left because of the violence, thats just a biproduct of the neighborhoods collapsing, and low income individuals start to move in and trash the place.

You're right the old down town was a great shopping area i use to walk those streets everyday I use to live on kings avenue Shirley Caesar had a church on Broadway

I have a co-worker ( he does maintenance ) he told me he's fron a town a few miles from Camden. He said he wouldn't go there in the day time because it's that bad, and he's done 15 years in prison.

Most of my videos are with a viofo a129 dash cam but recently I’ve been using a GoPro, which is definitely a lot clearer … down side with the GoPro is the battery life and overheating when I have it mounted inside the car, but definitely better quality
