Very helpful - although we all know the Surface Duo camera can't compete with the Galaxy Z Fold 2, it's still helpful to see how big a difference there is.

Hello Shane... Finally I got my new Surfsce Duo 2. And it's feel better than the first one... more smooth and less bugs., still have some, but have much more less bugs. Stil have The fold 2, but The firm factor and the multi tasking is a lot better with the Duo 2. Thanks for all the information you gave in technology. God bless you.

I own both and use them differently. Multi- tasking and business has to go to the Duo but photography and using the device to call has to go to the Z Fold 2. I enjoy watching KZbin on the Duo in tent mode - the Z Fold is too heavy for my female hands, plus late at night I always fall asleep and I wouldn't want to drop it!

I like the surface duo primarily for the pen writing experience. I wouldn't mind the Z-fold if one can write well on it.

Lots of rumors that z-fold 3 will support s pen so that should be interesting.

..the issue is not so much the different camera image sensors as it is the actual lenses, the Samsungs optics are letting in far more light as there a much larger lens, so images are sharper with high colour contrast, the question is can Microsoft ever improve there image quality in software given the Duo's lens ...well if they can, then maybe the Duo 2's camera may result in a larger single camera but with much better software producing photos, while still keeping the device slim.....

Lens is very important. Have they said what the actual sensor itself is? It has so be low end, whatever it is.. I'd bet it's tiny.

I have both and use them for different things. The ZFold 2 is definitely a better camera but the Duo gorilla glass screen is more practical for Business use and the Surface Pen is much better than being very careful with the Fold screen. However I like them both but for different reasons!!

What's strange is that many people have bought both. I can't quite nail down exactly where the venn diagram overlaps, but it's there somewhere. I figure I'll just cover as much as I can and therefore be as useful as possible.

The Fold is a much fancier and neater piece of kit and has a wow factor for me and everyone who sees it (I had it at day 1) but actually the Duo is better at looking at facebook, KZbin and sports TV in tent mode and the pen makes a load of difference. To be fair I have a Note 20 Ultra as my daily driver and the camera on that is excellent and what I take photos on. Clearly I have positioned myself as a very old Geek but I do find your videos great. So thanks

Good video. In few month I will need a new phone and a new computer, but I only use my computer for editing videos. I can do everything else on my phone but I prefer to work on a desktop when I’m editing. It’s ridiculous to buy a computer just to edit videos no? I wonder if I can do this with Dex? If yes, I will just need to buy a new phone like Z Fold 2 or 3.🤷‍♂️

Saw the thumbnail. Said "well duh" commented on video. We all know Samsung camera is a thousand times better than duo. My wife just got an s20 because the duo camera sucks so bad she was missing pics of our kids a lot. So now her duo is just sitting there. As soon as fold 3 comes out I do believe I'm making the jump as well. G cam go does make camera so much better but its still not great.. I really wanted to love the duo. But it's hard to love.

It's not as simple as saying "Fold is better." I wanted to explain the differences and challenges with Duo's camera and in what ways Fold is better. I get asked about surface duos camera with some frequency and for some reason a lot of Duo owners also happen to either own the Fold or want one as well. As stated in the video, this is not the only comparison video I'm going to be making. I'm going to try and break down the differences and similarities between these two devices with more detail than you could do with just one video. There will certainly be at least a handful of people who will find this information useful to them.

The Wright's bros. originally had a contraption which, over time, grew wings and moved more and more on a horizontal plane sailing through the 'air', instead of crashing vertically from mountaintops. So today, in our century, we do have Microsoft and the whatchermecallit the Duo or Surface',. Is not history repeating itself. . Might not all the agonizing intellectual frenzy, the storm, the words, the dust raised in all four corners of the globe, regarding their beautiful whatchermecallit, thingmebob, just be the same as what the Wright brothers endured as they and contraption metamorphosed from clumsy to beautiful? Of course it has a headstart. It already started off as one of the most attractive pieces of electronic equipment ever deign to make its way into the daylight Don't we live in exciting time?! Wow the Z Fold 2 is an absolutely hideous looking device. I'd rather carry a separate point and shoot camera around with me than being seen using that thing in public.

Strong disagree. I think it looks quite nice, this comment feels a bit like a troll post to be honest. Even if it were ugly, it's a bit silly to care about such a thing. It's a tool, not a prada bag...

How’s the minimum focal distance on the fold? I’m coming from a 12 pro max the minimum focal distance is so bad you need to be about 5-6 inches away to get a focus unlike older iPhones.

You can get much closer than that. I won't say for sure, but it seems like maybe half that.
